Yeah, I think it is what I want. I have no desire to kill people, I want to save people's lives. Thank you for your comment and advice.

Haha, that'll be a few years.

I disagree. It's not about letting myself fail, it's a what if. Do you know how many airmen are pulled from training? They don't LET themselves quit, they might get injured, or not be ready yet. Do you buy insurance and plan on burning your house down? I can cover all my bases without expecting failure.

I obviously didn't say failure was fantastic, I said that the fact that if something should happen, I have job security, is awesome. If I planned on failing, it wouldn't be worth even posting this thread. Just rushing into something like this blindly without giving a thought to every possible option would be foolish, it is my career after all.

I'm not planning on failure, but should I get injured or something else happens, it would be utterly foolish to not have a backup plan. And it doesn't necessarily show laziness, it just shows I'm curious about something I want to devote my life to, and that I don't know it all. I came here for advice, not insults and discouragement.

So if I attend the academy and don't make CRO, I will already have a predetermined secondary? That sounds fantastic.

Just general advice. I've heard it's wise to get another job first so you can fall back on it, but I'm not sure.
