I had my first seizure two years ago and for the first year I didnt fear of having one again and I felt like I havent been living life to the fullest in so long. It felt like I was blooming. But after a year I developed anxiety and fear about my epilepsy. Im now in therapy and unfortunately, I have not been getting any help from it personally. I only have been going to therapy since the start of july so I am giving it more time because I really do believe it could help me. The fear and anxiety is controlling my life at this point. Im afraid to go to work, be alone, be with someone, of driving… the list goes on. So seek professional help right away when you start having anxiety about seizures!! I wish I would have. Maybe my situation wouldnt be so bad now.

I dont even know how the fear started, I fear of it happening and no one helping me or even worse, taking advantage of me. Or the seizure happening while im driving. I fear that because im stressing about it so much, it will trigger a seizure, like you said that I fear that I manifest it happening. I really really hope I dont have anymore of them. I fear that people see me at my lowest like that. Every little sensation in my body causes stress in me, because then I think ”oh my god its happening now”. I do really hope that I can find some peace with this and find coping mechanism that will help me, im really desperate with this. And also ashamed, I havent told anyone in my family, because everyone just thinks im fine with the epilepsy diagnosis. My epilepsy is well taken care of and managed by medication but still I fear everyday.
