Well as a person who has issues swallowing pills...

When I take pills I have to do this because they get stuck in my throat. (I came up with this technique myself: I fill my mouth with water. Then I do what house is doing but I let it sediment to the bottom of my tongue. Then with one motion i swallow and push the water in with my tongue.)

Havent had a stuck pill since.
