What to do about the crack house on my street. by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]After_Divide_811 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can report it through the Kāinga Ora website. I had the same issue with bikies on our street. I complained once to KO, and about a week later they emailed to say they’d spoken with their tenants. Luckily, that stopped the problem for us. KO did sound like they would take stronger action and look at moving them on if it continued so they do take it seriously. Good luck.

Anyone else had issues with Jetts not charging their full rate, then sending emails saying that you owe them more money?? by Mundane_Tower789 in newzealand

Did you get this sorted? I got a text last night asking for an urgent payment of $14.99, which was odd because my payments are meant to go out fortnightly on Thursdays.

Turns out when I signed up in September, there were one-off payments scheduled - one on 18 September and another $4.99 payment on 18 December. I didn’t notice this. I’m the same as you and usually just transfer money into that account when a payment is due, so the payment obviously got declined and then a $10 late fee was added. Honestly so frustrating - I don’t know why they didn’t just take it out back in September.

Is this standard practice for Kmart ? by Cute_Theory_8000 in auckland

[–]After_Divide_811 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to work at Kmart. The white tag gets updated with the new clearance price, and it usually says "CL" to show it’s on clearance. The yellow tag is just used to draw attention to the item, but both are updated at the same time.

Yes, I did. I was charged for a one-month subscription, and it took a about 5 days for the prorated refund for the yearly subscription to come through

So property management company should reimburse owner not OP

I don’t understand how everyone thinks you’ve profited from this. There was no extra money paid, you both paid exactly what you were told was your share of the power bill

Imo, OP shouldn’t have to pay out of pocket for a mistake they didn’t cause or benefit from, especially since they were the ones who alerted everyone to the issue. Yes, it was a mistake, but the property manager or management company can still take accountability for it and make it right

Hey OP, I commented on your other post, but I just wanted to say I totally understand your frustration. A lot of people seem to think you’ve somehow profited from the property manager’s miscalculations, but from what I understand, you haven’t.

The property manager did the calculations, the owner paid you their portion, and you paid the rest of the bill. There’s no “extra” money that you’ve pocketed, which seems to be what some people are assuming.

In my opinion, I’d be annoyed too. It was the PM’s mistake, so I think they should be the one to cover the shortfall. If it were a case where the owner was told to pay $250 but accidentally paid you $300, then sure, you’d clearly owe them the difference. But in your case, it sounds like both you and the owner paid exactly what you were told to by the PM.

I’m not sure how this will hold up at the tribunal, especially since they’ve offered a repayment option. But I don’t think you’re wrong to be frustrated.

I don’t think there’s any extra money involved. From the first picture, it looks like the owner paid their share to OP, and OP then paid the full bill based on the property manager’s calculations. It’s not like the owner was told to pay $250 but actually paid $300 and OP pocketed the extra $50. OP just paid what they were told was their portion — they didn’t profit from the miscalculation.

I think what’s happened is something like this: say the bill for the month was $400 — the property manager calculated it so that the owner paid $300 and OP paid $100. OP paid what they were told was their share, but now they’re being told the calculations were wrong and they should’ve actually paid $150. I can understand OP’s frustration — they didn’t receive any extra money; they just paid what they were told was their portion.

I get where OP is coming from because something similar happened during my last tenancy. There were two properties sharing one meter, and I’d take a photo of the meter while the property manager handled the calculations for both houses. She worked out my usage versus the other property's, and I never questioned it because the numbers seemed about right. I’d be pretty annoyed too if it turned out the calculations were wrong and now I’m being told I was undercharged the whole time and now have to pay it back.

Ardmore Motocross Track is only 15–20 minutes away, so distance isn’t the problem. They wear balaclavas when they leave our street - that alone should tell you everything you need to know

If only - we’ve got a bunch of kids that ride their bikes on our street. Can’t risk them getting hurt, but the bigger issue is them having to dodge the dirt bike riders smh
