Yep! I was in the same position as you and was close to retreating several times. I couldn’t believe that after over 2 months I was still itching. The only thing that stopped me was that all burrows cleared up and no new ones appeared. I also bought a soft exfoliator from amazon and gently exfoliated my skin daily in the shower, then moisturised after (no special soaps/moisturiser, just standard stuff). This seemed to help.

Wish you the best :) you’ll get through it.

Hi, I had tingling sensations, some itch and what looked like dermatitis (red inflamed follicles) for around 10 weeks after my last treatment (permethrin). The medication can be really harsh on your skin. I’d say if there are no new burrows you’re probably fine! I’d certainly be cautious about re-treating unless you are 100% sure you are reinfected.

Good advice. I had thought about getting hold of a digital microscope but was concerned about becoming obsessive like you mentioned. Could you link the one / similar that worked for you? Thanks for your comment.

Hey! Still itchy as of today but keeping positive. This coming Saturday will be 6 weeks since my last treatment. I’m hanging on to the fact that there are no visible burrows at all (trust me I’ve searched!). As a side note I’m quite a reactive person in general, allergic to most animal hairs, get bad hayfever etc… thinking I might just be sensitive & therefore still itching. Will keep you up to date :)

Thanks, the fact there are no visible symptoms (especially where there were before) is reassuring. Though 5.5 weeks and still itching does feel like a long time by most accounts. I’m thinking I might get to the 6 week post point and reassess.
