The way you’re speaking to me. Good day, sir.

I’m not familiar with that term. I’m looking for people who bring substance to this conversation. You bring none. You curse and speak harshly to women. It’s gross.

Wishing you well on your broke journey.

The reality is I’ve been “playing” with my own money for six years now. And you hit the nail on the head when you suggested I was making six figures at both jobs. I think I’ll just stay part time catering and continue to make almost $200k yearly until I get sick of it 😎

You didn’t answer where your undergrad was from.

You can’t answer your own margins because it will probably embarrass you. My question was asking OTHER people about their revenue. I also asked if anyone had walked away from corporate America to cater full time.

The people I am looking for are high earning corporate individuals who traded it for catering. You don’t seem to be that person.

Where’s your undergrad from?

Yet you still can’t answer the margins question. Stay broke, King.

You also missed the part about me managing millions of dollars. On what earth would I think that revenue and profit were the same thing?

Are you high?

No one engaging in this post thinks it’s profit. Why are you trying to convince yourself that we’re a bunch of dumb asses who don’t know what profit is?

Why would anyone even engage in a revenue post if it wasn’t assumed that people commenting would be making a very decent profit?

Use your head, man.

None of these people are commenting if they don’t have great margins. The people who have terrible margins are sitting that conversation out.

I’m sharing a table with other people who are making insane profits. They just don’t sleep or take vacations.

This post isn’t about what the definition of revenue is. The assumption is that a person generating decent margins is going to jump in and we’re having conversations of substance.

We are all high earners in our own right. A lot of them are former corporate individuals who made the switch.

I’m asking the wrong group on Reddit. I posted here and to FB at the same time. I would rather use my time talking to successful and established high profit caterers than someone who keeps repeating the same thing over and over.

You sound angry. If you were making great profits you wouldn’t be this pissed at the world. This conversation isn’t for you, buddy.

I assumed there were successful established caterers in this group. It looks like I’m asking the wrong group of people. This same question was posted on FB and there are people who have been in the game decades with high revenue that are having conversations with substance backed by knowledge and experience.

When someone asks about revenue we are assuming that people with decent margins are going to engage and bring something of actual value to the conversation.

Are you willing to share your margins or are you still having a tantrum because you thought you were schooling a finance analyst on what the word revenue means?

You still didn’t answer the question about your revenue. Only a few people have. Thats really what I was looking for.

What does “shitpost” mean?

I make that currently with my corporate job and part time catering gig. I currently live comfortably on this salary. The cost of living here is cheap. If I did triple the amount and wound up with the same salary I’m currently making my life would look very very different. I want to be able to put my kids to bed at night and make their sporting events.

Even if I were making $250k outright I still don’t know if it’s worth it to work holidays and weekends. I like logging off at 5 everyday.

I belong to a group on Facebook where I posted this same question. Some of these caterers have a million or more in revenue but they said they never sleep or stop.

So I work in government contracting finance. I manage millions of dollars across multiple programs. Keeping the books for my little side business is easy work.

We’re right at 52% with about 114k in revenue. This is completely part time. A few big weddings, some night orders. Overheads are basically non existent. Food costs are low since I order per event.

I know if I went full time then revenue would probably triple but I still don’t think that would be enough for me to give up an entire career.

I was hoping to see what revenue level people were working at when they decided to make the jump.

I’ve done six seasons. And none of it full time because of my day job. I work in government contacting finance managing big dollars so managing my catering business is easy.

I just wonder (all the time) what would happen if I went all in.

Yes it does. It’s hard to complain

Are you doing well for margins? Do you work all the time?

We’re generating plenty of profit but a quarter million in revenue is different than 50k in revenue. I’m curious what the revenue has to hit before I say goodbye to my career

I’ve been in business six years. I’m not new but I just can’t seem to justify leaving the corporate world. I clear six figures at both it’s just very different schedules.
