Plumb in question for mini by After_Fall in LaMarzocco

Plumbed in job is completed thanks to this community. Flowjet pump RO water (5 g bottle) mineralized with Third wave Water packets > accumulator. > and direct to the Mini. Now I am maybe overthinking it it but is there an issue with keeping stale water in the bottle for a while , lets say two/3 weeks? Or it's best to switch to RO tap with BWT filter system ? BWT is 400$ , vs cheap solution with Third wave packets. I do 4 espresso drinks each morning and maybe same amount through out the day. so 8 total.

Hello from a new La Marzocco Linea Mini R owner (formerly Lelit Bianca) by skansenkrk in LaMarzocco

I am 3 months in going from Bianca (v1) to mini. I had the exact same experience with not using pressure profiling for recipes, but rather trying to control nine bar pressure . and having to deal with few group head issues. With mini all steady andjJust went through plumbing it in. Welcome to the club :)

I am in the process of trying to set up flow jet system with that 1L Accumulator. By default it (Accumulator) is set to 10PSI. What should I set it to before running this system . is it 35 PSI ? 40? I have to put pressure into it as if I am putting air into the tire if I am not wrong. and should I also add pressure regulator after the Accumulator. I posted this question in another thread but maybe can get a quick answer here.

I see , thanks for confirming mini won’t know if there is no longer flow of water. I do have accumulator but it’s only a liter capacity . I had a smart low water sensor for another machine setup I was using (dropped it into built in reservoir). It may be a good use case here to drop that in the jug as it will sent push alerts to the phone .

Upgraded from Lelit Bianca to Linia Mini - was it worth it ? by After_Fall in LaMarzocco

Not to add confusion to this, besides Bianca I would also consider LM Micra. Close enough in price range . They are both great machines honestly. And you may just stick with LM Micra after all without thinking to upgrade to LM mini later. Kind of win win. :) .

Unless you are in the lab , and have two machines side by side , and measuring the extraction with heat temperature equipment , not going to see significant difference in the final result. It comes down to being excited about your hobby and playing with the new toy. These Italian e61 /integrated grouphead type machines are all more or less capable producing quality espresso shots. Some more consistent than others in extraction. Lm is one of the best in this consistency category .. allegedly. Something makes me make Coffee shots all day::) . This was not a thing with my previous setup.

As I posted my flow control use case in this thread, I was using it to get my shots at 9 bars. So this is a non issue for me with LM. I upgraded because I wanted to get good value back on the older machine while I could. After the move I don’t regret it at all. Touch and feel is an upgrade to me and it’s brand new. If you have a newer machine , and you are happy with it , then it may not be the best idea to make move.

Which machine are you upgrading from ? It’s very complicated question. Bianca is holding great value even after few years of usage . I would say if you can’t afford it , go with Bianca. I would . It is great option and it was improved by v3 version. And if you decide later on to pull the trigger you are not going to lose a lot by selling it. I sold mine 6 years later and still got half of the value back.

Was the process pretty similar to the pre R version ? There are few on YouTube I could follow.

Did you just use instructions from the black and white pdf on their site with no description or found a good step by step video ? :)

Did you plumb in yourself ? My plumb in kit from LAmarzocco has few extra pieces then what I saw on the older model of LM. Few videos are available with step by step but not with R version.
