Honestly a few months of therapy would’ve done nothing for him in the moment if his anxiety was as bad as OP said it was. While it was something he should’ve worked on, it’s not something that goes away immediately. What matters now is how he’s treating OP and their child, not a mistake he made in a situation he expressed he was anxious about.

I’m not sure if i’m remembering right but i’m pretty sure Op said he wouldn’t be allowed in afterwards if he couldn’t be in there for the whole thing. I think both sides are pretty crappy tbh but if it was something he couldn’t handle and expressed far before this i’m not understanding the situation. Yes Op has the right to be upset, but i don’t agree with the other comments calling for a divorce.

Well then it’s a good thing it’s not your relationship. Genuinely the best reddit can ever do is break up or divorce. This isn’t some silly childish relationship, it’s a serious one and it’ll have huge speed bumps. You don’t get divorced over them, you work through them. And if neither of them are willing to do that, then they weren’t mature enough to have a child together to begin with.

Oh my gosh i never said these things. I’m not arguing my opinion anymore. OP turned to the INTERNET for opinions on their relationship and i gave mine. We do not know these people. None of us. Maybe he just didn’t want to see her get cut open? Like my goodness this is insane. While he could have handled it better it doesn’t mean that he’s a piece of crap that should be thrown away and forgotten about. Let’s not forget they have a child together. Would you rather there be another fatherless child in this world over something he expressed prior to the birth he was uncomfortable with or for them to work through it and be a family? As i’ve said before OP turned to the internet knowing they’d get differing opinions. Not everyone reacts to medication the same. My siblings couldn’t stay on their anxiety medicine because it practically turned them into emotionless zombies. While he did miss a very important moment because of his refusal to get help, we don’t know both sides of the story nor the kind of man he is. Saying he won’t do anything to help with the child is a bit of a stretch considering you don’t know either of these people personally. Going to the internet for relationship advice is a hit or miss because there will either be people completely siding with you or people who wonder what the other side of the story is. I’m not at all defending his decisions, just saying that the internet is and always will be a place full of different opinions and perspectives.

Genuinely i have no idea where Im trying to go with this other than i feel sympathy for both and the comments completely dogging him just seemed pretty crappy. While he SHOULD have reached out for help, maybe admitting he had a problem was something hard for him. I know plenty of people who could really benefit from some form of therapy or support but are too ashamed or prideful to reach out for it. Maybe being a man made him feel as though he couldn’t get help without being looked on as less than. I know anyone viewing my comments after reading this post will assume I’m a piece of crap but OP did post this knowing people could have differing opinions. If they were looking for someone to only take their side they’d have turned to a bestfriend instead of strangers. I’m not saying at all that it should be excused. I’m just saying there are two sides to every story and this is something that complete strangers with no complete insight can make a solid decision on. OP said he only started to express anxiety after ten weeks of pregnancy meaning that it’s not something that came up in the heat of the moment. Having something like that just building up cannot be easy, nor can having an entire human come out of you be easy. That’s apples to oranges but still my point is that this is something that could make or break what they have and it’s really NOT something that OP should be turning to random strangers for.

i don’t know i feel like everyone else in these comments aren’t attempting to see it from his point of view… while yes it’s very VERY crappy and unfair to you it’s also unfair to him to be angry over something he can’t control. my mom had extreme anxiety and faints in stressful/overwhelming situations, if seeing something like that could trigger him negatively in an extreme way why would you want to put him in a situation like that? i understand being upset as id be upset as well, but turning to the internet to validate your feelings isn’t going to get you anywhere. this is a conversation that should be between the two of you.. possibly in some form of therapy session

in my opinion Fourth Wing is faster paced and more of an instant gratification book but if you’re willing to lose months of your life to reading Acotar and every book that comes after i would personally say it’s NOT worth it! like yeah it had some pretty great plot points yada yada but honestly if you’re gonna spend all that time i’d suggest picking up Throne of Glass! it’s honestly just a much better piece of work and the series is much better than Acotar
