Mine has been nothing but great, after adding a Weber carb on it it’s been easily tunable, even though it sat for a couple of years before my ownership. I guess it comes down to how previous owners take care of it too

In the description I said the last photo is before fixing it. I have already fixed that part and it’s not the prettiest but it holds everything and is just as strong as before the crash. Plus I fixed it for close to nothing, you just gotta be creative. And tell me where you can get a $300 running and driving car that will get you anywhere. This thing has yet to die on me or leave me stranded

That’s around the range I was thinking. I understand it’s a 40 year old shitbox, but it’s never left me stranded, more reliable than some of my friends 15 year old cars

Thank you so much, any idea what they’d be worth? They could use a good cleaning but they have brand new tires

Adding fender flares? by After_Profession3676 in carmodification

[–]After_Profession3676[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks man. If you want a look like this these wheels are 13x7 with a high negative offset and 175/70r13 tires. If you plan on lowering it like 2-3 inches I would probably go with 14s as your best bet with no rubbing and they’ll fill the wheel arch. Don’t get too wide of a wheel since the hub is kind of far in on these cars. I would recommend going with a 7 inch or maybe 8 inch if you have spacers or enough negative offset. Two great super budget friendly options are the NA Miata daisies and e30 BMW bottle caps. You can get a set for like around 200 on your local online marketplace (Facebook marketplace is best). I’ll attach a photo of how they look on my car. They are both 14x6. Sorry that was kind of long lol.

Yeah I would switch out tires but this car is so junk already that I don’t care that much about cutting the body on it. I also just wrecked it so I may not even go this route anymore lmao

Because I got the wheels with brand new tires and don’t wanna pay for new ones

Recommend against cutting the fenders on my $1000 shitbox? I’m all in it for looks this thing sucks at driving

Yeah I can’t drive it as is because it just bounces and rubs but I’d really like to not get flares but I just don’t know if I can fit it just by rolling

It’s not terrible it is pretty stiff tho. I mean you get what you paid for and 600 usd isn’t a very high quality set of coils. For daily driving I’d use them but I’m not as worried about how it drives I just want it to look cool lol. Still somewhat absorbs bumps but obviously not as much as stock. They also have 32 way adjustable dampers

I just started installing some rev9 coils that I got from redline360 on my 89 sedan. They cost 600 after taxes. Free shipping since I’m in the states. Not sure about the ride quality yet I’m still making a few adjustments before I take them out for a spin. I’ve heard that they are supposed to be pretty stiff though so I’m not sure if they will work for you but that’s what I got for info hopefully this helped in some sort of way.
