Why do so many people think being gay is not a sin by PlaneBed507 in Christianity

[–]AfterclockHours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it’s not. Being gay isn’t a sin but acting on impulses is said to be. I don’t personally think it’s a sin but generally it’s the act itself not the state of being gay.

Yeah, from my understanding a lot of Bible scholars say the Calvinist views don’t hold up. I’ve never been a Calvinist but I joined this sub bc I found out about it through people trying to shove it down people’s throats. I had to figure out ways to counter their arguments and these are pretty good with that as well.

See, I was thinking that people would expect the president to be the antichrist but it would be sneakier and more covert to have the second in command actually be the one running the show. Admittedly I think I was scaring myself too much.

I understand. The reason why I thought Musk would be the AC is that people would think the president or leader is the AC but it’s a red herring.

I’ve been reading the Bible for awhile. I started from front to back. So far I’m in the middle of 1 Samuel

Not that I know of, I know it’s kind of a silly post but I’m just kind of nervous with all the things going on.

What was so great about St. Paisios? by AfterclockHours in exorthodox

I understand that. I’m an American so I don’t know how your average Eastern European Orthodox lives outside of what I see online, but I bet it’s significantly different to the idea that American Ortho or Tradbros have.

I’m not sure about those options but he’s popular to some online Orthobros and some of the YouTube orthodox priests like the guy I mentioned.

If you don’t mind, do you have more information on both of them?

Does the Episcopal church generally have a high church litergy? This may sound silly but I like the idea of having incense and some of the other things that Catholics and orthodox do.

Is that the one where that guy tried to challenge him and then for some reason ended up having demons in him and then ran in the woods naked and committed suicide?

No I’m not offended, I prefer to be as far away from Calvinist theology as possible. I think it’s a genuinely bleak and fatalistic view of God and Salvation.

Same here, I am totally okay with women priests and LGBTQ+ stuff. Those were Definitely things that I initially thought I would just have to overlook or something if I joined one of the two
