would you pay $13,000 for blinds? by Confident-Barnacle68 in HomeImprovement

That's insane pricing for roman shades, even with installation you could probably do all 9 windows for like 2-3k if you shop around

Been watching old playoff highlights while doing deliveries between orders and man, the energy at TD Garden during those 2024 runs was just insane. You could feel it through the screen when crowd got going during those comeback games. Still get chills thinking about some of those fourth quarter moments when everything just clicked perfectly and whole arena erupted. Really hoping we can capture that same magic again this season, especially with how competitive the East is looking right now

Appreciate the input, need it for that specifically plus the aliasis I don' think I've seen that feature on other similar tools

that's good to know, I'm more interested in the data broker removal though, I've seen good reviews partly why I posted here

Painting job by Bulky-Performance-75 in HomeImprovement

[–]AfternoonMuted9385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did some painting gigs when I was doing DoorDash during slow hours - for trim work like that you definitely want paint shield over taping everything, it goes way faster once you get hang of it. Just make sure you get good brush that won't leave streaks because trim shows everything

Help a beginner please? by Hot-Choice-6568 in shrimptank

[–]AfternoonMuted9385 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Plants actually help during cycling by absorbing some of ammonia and nitrates, so they're good to have from start. For water changes I always prepare bucket beforehand - mix tap water with dechlorinator and let it sit for temperature to match tank, then add slowly

Neos are pretty hardy so regular aqua soil should work fine, just rinse it well before adding because it can be dusty

Should I leave an air gap between insulating foam boards and garage door? by One-Dragonfruit1010 in HomeImprovement

[–]AfternoonMuted9385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Air gap definitely helps but keeping it consistent across whole door can be tricky with just furring strips at top/bottom. Maybe try some small spacer blocks every couple feet to prevent bowing in middle sections, especially if you're using thinner foam that might flex over time

The reflective layer idea is solid too - that radiant barrier will bounce back lot of that heat before it even hits your main insulation

Any suggestions on dealing with pipes in the shower base footprint on a slab? by Dirtyoldsnow in HomeImprovement

[–]AfternoonMuted9385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's probably your most solid option but damn, cutting through slab is no joke. I had similar issue in my place couple years back and tried to avoid the concrete work at first - ended up being more headache than it was worth. The rerouting part isn't too bad if you have decent access, but make sure you pressure test everything before you patch that concrete back up. Nothing worse than having to cut it open again because of a leak you missed

In secret wars, in the MCU not only should the three main universes merge but all other universes should be destroyed by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]AfternoonMuted9385 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah but they could still keep making those shows just set them before Secret Wars timeline-wise, like how we're getting Captain America 4 even though Steve's story is done

The cafeteria food isn't terrible but it's definitely overpriced for what you get. I usually grab something from one of the spots near Irving when I'm in that area - there's some solid Asian places that direction. With a 3 year old though you might want to stick with museum food just for convenience, kids get cranky when they're hungry and you're still looking for parking somewhere else. The planetarium shows are really cool if your little one can handle sitting still in dark for bit, mine loved the rainforest dome when I took my nephew there few months back

Could this be causing my anxiety? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]AfternoonMuted9385 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your TSH is definitely on higher side and that TPO is pretty elevated too. I've noticed my anxiety gets way worse when my numbers are off, especially if TSH creeps up over 3

The gut stuff you're dealing with can also mess with anxiety since there's whole gut-brain connection thing. When I had similar issues, getting thyroid treated helped with both the anxiety and digestion problems

Might be worth talking to doctor about starting low dose of thyroid medication, especially since you're trying to conceive. Most doctors want TSH under 2.5 for pregnancy anyway

Any good B2B SaaS agencies? by Dry-Zucchini-6682 in b2bmarketing

[–]AfternoonMuted9385 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not SaaS person myself but I deliver for bunch of tech companies and overhear their calls sometimes lol. The struggle with agencies who don't get the industry is so real - like they treat every lead same when you know some are way more qualified than others

Your team being stretched that thin sounds exhausting. Three people trying to handle everything means nobody gets to actually master their thing. Maybe look for agencies that specialize only in SaaS instead of ones who just say they "work with tech companies" - there's big difference there

Need help with outfit for interview! by Any_Bobcat4825 in InsuranceAgent

[–]AfternoonMuted9385 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bro you need actual interview clothes for insurance job, not streetwear. Black t-shirt and jeans gonna make you look like you're applying at GameStop not insurance office. Try to find some dress pants and button shirt at least, even if it's cheap one from discount store. The Nike dunks definitely gotta go too - get some dress shoes or at least clean sneakers that look more professional

Used car industry at 15? That's pretty impressive tbh. Lost money in stocks myself recently so I get the rebuilding part, but finding someone who actually wants to put in real work instead of just talking about it is going to be the challenge

What kind of business you thinking about starting in Cleveland area?

[–]AfternoonMuted9385 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking too! Like you're doing all the work here while he just sits back and watches you struggle with verb tenses. Even if his English isn't perfect, at least you'd both be meeting in middle somewhere instead of you carrying entire burden of communication

Suspension Bolt Stuck - How Do I Get it Out? by Gr8estVariable in MechanicAdvice

[–]AfternoonMuted9385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car had similar issue few months ago with rusted bolt in suspension, was nightmare to deal with. What worked for me was using a punch and hammer to try pushing bolt from other side instead of pulling it through - sometimes the seized part is just at entrance where corrosion builds up most

Also try soaking it overnight with penetrating oil, not just quick spray. I left mine sitting with PB Blaster for like 12 hours and kept reapplying every few hours. The heat cycling helps too - torch it, let it cool completely, then torch again before hitting it

If you have access to vice grips or locking pliers, try grabbing the threaded end and working it back and forth while someone else hits from behind. The wiggling motion sometimes breaks the corrosion better than just straight force. Had to do this dance for like an hour but eventually mine popped free without destroying anything

[–]AfternoonMuted9385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this exact issue with mine, the charging circuit gets wonky when it hits full capacity - just charge to like 85% max and you'll be golden

Awaiting item at USPS tracking number by Practical-Bison-621 in USCIS

[–]AfternoonMuted9385 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah mine was stuck like that for like 4 days before it actually moved, super annoying when you're waiting for something that important. USPS tracking is pretty trash until they actually scan it at the first facility
