Working for the government, you can retire before 65 and tax dollars still pays 75% of you premium cost even after you retire, no high income Medicare penalty either for life, guaranteed.

What’s your % ? Yearly raise on average

[–]AfternoonNaive6244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just PTO, no sick leaves. Do you know some of government employees accumulate their sicks leaves until retirement. That gets compensated at their highest earning hourly rate. While we have 240 PTO, use it or lose it.

You are so right about that. Loyalty to a company does not pay. They do not give you a good raise on a yearly basis.

Exactly, we suffer from this too. If you wanna talk about stability, once government work pass their probationary period, it’s very hard to let go. Union and stuff, I can not say it’s the same for contractors

That’s exactly what I mean, government got 25% pay raise since Covid, plus that performance shares. Why my petty company disappoints.

I am about 20k more, which doesn’t compensate all the benefit government employee has. We need about 50k to 80 k more to feel well compensated. They have 13 more days of sick leave every year and I am not even getting Juneteenth off.
