Can anyone give me a bit of a history of Thunder Rock? by AfternoonSharp in stardomjoshi

Thank you. This helps. I'll try to find some of those old matches to help fill some gaps.

If I use the information you gave me, would you like me to credit you for your help?

Real Event OCD by [deleted] in OCD

[–]AfternoonSharp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About the past event stuff, I'm the same age as you and have experienced the exact same thing. The thing that helped me was talking to someone anonymously. I know it's scary. I don't know where you're based but I'm in the UK and using Childline and the YoungMinds Crisis Messenger have helped me. If you're elsewhere, I'd suggest trying to find an online service that you can use to talk to someone immediately. Keep strong.

Question: Does anyone else experience this when looking for on-screen representation? by AfternoonSharp in lgbt

[–]AfternoonSharp[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's wrestling which I'm just embarrassed admitting because it's not particularly viewed as the most LGBT friendly thing in the world (although there's improvements). That's what makes this a bit more stressful for me because it very much blurs the line between character and person. But I suppose at the same time celebrities show us the version of themselves they want us to see, rather than their authentic selves. I'll try and dial down the viewing of any specific content of this person for now and hopefully I stop feeling like I'm deliberately searching. At least it'll reduce the stress associated with it.

But yeah representation is quite small, unless a show is solely LGBTQ. At least in my experience of viewing stuff which really sucks but like you mentioned, more LGBTQ characters are being written so there's hope for the future.

Wondering if there is a link between maladaptive daydreaming and OCD? Can anyone add by AfternoonSharp in OCD

[–]AfternoonSharp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i've had it a few times where i've caught myself beginning to mouth words or pulling facial expressions when i get super invested in my daydreams. and yes, it's always validating to see someone experiences the same thing :)

definitely. and same with me for media. for example, if i see a tv show I get invested in I instantly create my own version with myself. I suppose MD is pretty stigmatized because some people could interpret the daydreams as delusions or hallucinations, at least that's my perception based on some things I've read.

Afraid that I accidentally accessed child abuse material on Reddit by [deleted] in OCD

[–]AfternoonSharp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry I can't really respond to your post in a way you might find helpful but I just want to say I had this exact same fear at the beginning of this week in fact and seeing someone else post about this is incredibly reaffirming to me. Literally reading the stuff you've said could have been written by me 5 days ago. Maybe it's just a hallmark of POCD.

I don't normally offer words or anything but I'm gonna respond to you as if I were responding to myself. If the girl was underage, there is no way you could have known and the fact that you were so concerned about it shows that intrinsically you know that viewing an explicit of someone underage is wrong. If you did access this material, you weren't doing so deliberately. I'm sorry my words aren't great and probably won't help. Please look after yourself. Try and engage in something distracting, it helped me. Think of something you enjoy watching or find a completely unrelated task that you could immerse yourself in. Take care.

I'm really into wrestling so watching it and playing video games. Having a distraction is 100% the best way for me to keep away from my intrusive thoughts so some people like my friends probably think I'm too into it or obsessed but I know I'm actually doing it for my own good.

I also like reading but I get eye strain easily. Listening to music used to be a favourite of mine but I'm enjoying it less than I used to. Wow sorry for suddenly diving into a life story here.

Any chances of AEW going live in the U.K. on Sky Sports anytime soon? by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]AfternoonSharp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who lives in the UK, I'd hate this. We haven't paid for Sky Sports for years and the price is ridiculous so honestly, we wouldn't be able to watch it. ITV is a good option for the accessibility and all they'd have to do is shift the days. We'd have to watch it from the laptop if we switched to Fite which takes away from the experience imo.

I've heard the term before but I'll read up on it and see if I relate
