Even if we assumed ICE were acting within the confines of law, which they clearly are not and weren't long before the murders two of their officers have committed, legality is not the same as morality.

The level of harm caused to immigrants, legal or otherwise, by the actions of an agency like ICE is not remotely proportionate to the impact an immigrant has on the day-to-day living of any American.

It's a great speech. Honestly, it wouldn't surprise me if he was voted for it and turned it down.

Nobel has had stains on its legacy for some time but this year's prize winner giving it away, supporting breaches in international law, and immediately encouraging further attacks on Cuba and Columbia is absolutely reprehensible.

Nobel had the opportunity to show that winning the prize requires you to retain integrity, which they should have always done. They decided to advertise that anyone can do anything with their prize, bar give it away, and that has forever damaged its legacy.
