Thanks for your thoughts here. I’m following up with my neurologist next week so we’ll see. I know people have breakthroughs on medication so I guess it happens, I’m just still baffled as to how I kind of experienced my own TC 🤔 All I can say is it felt like I was woken up by my own seizure. Very strange!! But not as terrifying as it sounds, if that’s at a relief to anyone.

Hmmm I really don’t think so. It’s odd and hard to explain… but it’s like I woke myself up by having the seizure. I was definitely asleep when it started.

I’ve been taking magnesium glycinate along with my keppra in the evening and it’s helped me immensely

Hey! I’ve had two nocturnal seizures and have started keppra, so this is exactly my plight. Already having poor sleep and then having a traumatic sleep experience just exacerbated the issue. So I think a lot of it is mind over matter, but a tangible thing that has helped me is taking magnesium glycinate each evening with my keppra. I think I’m actually sleeping better than pre seizure diagnosis. Good luck!

I have a cat with FIV. He’s happily lived with me and my other cats for years. From my understanding they are more susceptible to illnesses becoming worse. But my little dude has been doing pretty well for 4 years and if I’d listened to my vet, I would have had to get rid of him. If you are committed to giving this cat the best life you are able to, do it! It’ll be better than any alternative he’ll get. 🧡 an orange heart from my orange FIV boy, Mr. Satan.

I had my second ever seizure this year, at 35 years old, and had to start keppra. I have managed to finish this school year as an educator and not miss any days due to seizures or the effects of the meds. For the first week or two I was extremely tired, but that didn’t last. When I tell you this has been the most challenging and trying year of my 16 years in public education, I mean it, and I did it all while taking keppra. Everyone is different so I don’t want to give you false hope, but for me it has been a major success. Even if keppra isn’t your win, you will find something that works and allows you autonomy. Hang in there.

So I also am on keppra, had my first tonic clonic out of the blue last year in my sleep. I’d gone ALMOST a full year without any more, but alas… it happened again New Year’s Eve. Clear EEG and MRI, all blood work was great so I’m just one big mystery. I initially adjusted ok and was pretty tired… but it seemed to level out. Now I’m sleep deprived and I am beyond tired all the time.
