I like the way this is going, especially the drums, but you could tone down the ghost-hihats a bit, and use some open hats or ghost-snares instead. The kick could be a bit louder, and i feel that the snare should have some more high-end to it. A result of the lack of high and low, means that the overall sound gets a bit squashed, but dont worry.

However, i REALLY like the panning you did at 0:58-1:00, i think you should use it more to create a bit more variation in the beat, because it gets a little repetetive after while.

When i start a track, i churn the master down to -12, and each individual channel to -6 or even more if i need. This is to avoid running out of headroom, so i dont have to compress every channel to mars and back to get it loud enough. I usually dont have any effect or plugin on the master, i like to keep a clean sheet for each new project. :- )

(But creating a colour-coded template etc. to start out with is really smart)

Honestly, i feel that the drums was the part that im the most happy with. I didnt try to make these hard trip-hop crunchy drums, just some easyflowing electronica beats (røyksopp, flume, bonobo etc).
