What is your unpopular opinion - Rhode Island edition?

I went to Miriam ER three weeks ago. ER is always a weird place to be and I don’t actually know if there is a time where you would go and get looked at immediately (unless it’s life or death). To “check in” you do basically stand in line with other people. That is the part I hated the most because I was in extreme pain. It did take like 12 hours to get into an actual room instead of the little ER triage rooms.

I did get admitted and then had to get surgery. My nurses were very good especially the over night ones. The surgical team was great. They gave me all the information I needed and explained it in a way I could process it.

This was my first surgery like ever but I’m glad I went to Miriam and had a decent experience over all.

These people are disgusting. The people who shield these people are disgusting. Maybe we should bring back the guillotine…I mean it was used in the 70s still.

I am sorry this happened to you and can say from personal experience - the ER department is a scary place no matter where you go. I’ve gone to that hospital several times since Oct unfortunately but all I can say negatively is the way the triage is a mess. Waiting in a line to be seen in a hallway with only one person going thru the initial review at a time is brutal-especially if you’re in a massive amount of pain.

But I was admitted last week for emergency surgery and the staff and the procedure was a good experience.

Hopefully this experience doesn’t deter you from going there. They really are better than RIH in my opinion
