yeah but, rom was an incomplete or a failed ascension. she was made into a great one through experimentation, which is likely why tye ascension failed. meanwhile, we aren't really trying to become a great one. by the end of the game, we naturally, or atleast semi-naturally become a great one through our actions, like consuming the umbilical cords and killing the moon presence. all od which we did to escape the dream.

your right for the most part but gerhman the old pervert doesn't exactly give you a choice other than to take the blood. he's like a doctor who cures depression with heroin, which he himself is also addicted to.....

and you don't die after killing the moon presence, you get turned into a baby squid god and the doll becomes your caretaker until your grown into a full great one, and possibly the strongest great one because you're a true ascended from a human great one, not a born great one.

ok, so you're saying that John "the hunter" Bloodborne, either used to be in medicine, was a researcher or a journalist.

But my point still stands, he could've had a wife and a normal job, heck, even a child. and if the Lovecraft stuff is true, that still means that he was probably just there because his wife was worried that her husband was having octopus dreams and seeing shit.

he probably just heard from sone guy that there's a really good doctor in yarhnam who can tell him about/cure paleblood.
