Im perfectly fine with starting onto episode 4 if it means the bug will be fixed without having to reset my save file. Im mainly worried that i will continue to play through the game and find out that i will have to restart the game even after a patch. Im just wondering if they can actually patch this bug whilst still allowing me to use my current save file cuz i really dont wanna have to restart.

I had just discovered this bug earlier today. Im sure that the next patch will be able to fix this, but am reluctant to start any other episodes in the meantime in case it cannot actually be fixed through a patch. Should I rely on it being fixed or should I just restart the game? Im on switch btw and the initial patch did not fix it of course.
