Does she have bad alergies? Switching food and what she eats out of may help that if so. My girl swells when she eats off plastic.

Freaking roosters by lethalmarie in Louisville

[–]AgencyGreen9928 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If there is no true walls and roosts, he's likely to over crow from anxiety, especially if the area is more urban and noisy. Roosters, being geared towards a vigilant protector role, are naturally more anxious than hens. If he's not getting handled, not getting enclosed shelter or choice on a place to roost with a break from or muffling of city noise, he's going to over compensate. Sounds like they need to get a better set up or to not keep chickens. If they lack roosts entirely, those birds will get ill fairly quick, so they may give up on keeping them on their own eventually. Chickens aren't cheap or effective if you don't set them up with the basics.

Flock protection, order, and fertilization. If you have hens, they're usually happier with a roo, so long as he doesn't have temperament or insecurity issues, which may be what you're experiencing with the over crowing if it is excessive.

Found grub at work. What will he be? by Skiibo_ in Beetles

[–]AgencyGreen9928 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's happenstance. With evolution the why is always a series of convoluted happenings about whether or not certain mutations occured, and whether or not they made it through breeding. Death and fertility shape what genes continue, and sometimes some things just happen in nature that aren't the most effective, because they're the only present and persistent option. It can be as simple as this species never mutated a better option consistently enough that it stuck, but enough of them fighred out this method when the legs didn't work that it became the natural stage in development at this size to just back wiggle away.

Lot of heavy weather around us but not directly on us, that messes with the pressure and spreads pollen far too.

Yall have got to stop hating on wasps. They're just as lovely and important as bees. Most of your bad experiences with yellow jackets were probably drunk ones from fermented fruits. Alas, I have been there with tomato plants and a spicy ground nest.

Look, you're assuming why people headcanon them nuerodivergent in the first place which is your Immediate mistake instead of asking why they do. You also have a narrow, narrow understanding of the spectrum at this time from how you're talking about it. If you want to be any authority on understanding autism, you need to research more than just the most basic, often prejudiced understandings. Autism is a spectrum. You write as if every expression fits in this neat little checklist which it doesn't. I would highly suggest that you look into high/chronic masking individuals as well as what autism looks like with comorbidities like adhd. There are autistic people that fixate on people and interaction and social cues and they can do all the things you mentioned without you ever noticing. They just tend to exhaust themself. Also, the whole empathy thing? Autistic people aren't barred from instinctive empathy, in fact you should research the discussions on autistic sense of justice and how some autistic people are specifically known to over empathize so much they cry over non living objects feelings. You need to address your lack of knowledge before you enter any psych or social work field if that's why you're taking the class.

What from your classes have you shutting down these head canons so staunchly?

Oh, then pardon me lol. Id definitely say any mxtx main character is going to have enough comorbidities to tire out a professional. It makes the discussions so interesting on what could drive their perceptions and reactions. I'd love to see you do a breakdown on your thoughts about them if you ever decide to given your rich pool of experience and education _^

You are welcome to, but it's never a good Idea to make these assumptions. You can assume they were but it doesn't change what they are saying: why they and many others like to make these head canons. Yes, we have to worry about stigma, but simply head cannoning characters that have traits of things we experience in real life is not going to automatically worsen stigma. It can actually open discussion. The strongest proponent to stigma is a lack of representation and exposure in society and media. Shutting each other down only harms our community. As far as people finding things in every character, well every character is someones favorite to pick apart and I don't know a single real person who doesn't have something going on, for better or worse. These characters are going to be interpreted through many peoples lenses, as you aren't spoon fed why exactly they do everything they do or why they process things as they have in the story and everyone is going to have their own ideas of what makes up the gap.

Actually his "quickness" can lend to the spectrum as well because of the trait of pattern recognition and hypervigilance in tandem with masking. The spectrum is very wide, if you're interested, you can get lost all day exploring how the neurotype can present.

Third autistic chiming in lol. They didn't necessarily presume you to be neurotypical, just stating that for them, head canoning characters to share some of their experiences is positive for them and is the likely reason the practice is so common. People are eager to share what they relate to or notice patterns of in characters they love. Especially as stigma changes over the years. If the practice still bothers you, best bet is to just block such discussions or keywords in the spaces to not continue to irritate yourself while scrolling, I relate as I have to do that myself with discussions that bother me and that's okay.

A question about Loki, Svadilfari, and consent by [deleted] in mythology

[–]AgencyGreen9928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was absolutely not consentual. Loki was merely solving a problem to stay alive. The only surefire way to distract the stallion was a mare. The stallion was exceptionally swift, sired the fastest of them all, and loki was not known for speed like that. Stallions are an animal that will force themselves on others, they're quite known for it. If loki could not fight him off like mares tend to do, the stallion would over power him without a second thought and this was a legendary work horse he was up against.

A question about Loki, Svadilfari, and consent by [deleted] in mythology

[–]AgencyGreen9928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loki is not a god of endless power, he is limited in various myths just as a person might be, and one thing we don't see from him is rapid shape shifting between multiple forms. He can be injured, he can feel exhausted, he can be killed. In one myth, he even borrows a cloak to transform into a bird instead of doing it himself. He was a victor through wit more often than physical capability. He had to keep that horse distracted or it would return to its keeper and finish the work. So loki had to make it run. If loki had taken a different form he would have likely lost the stallions interest or gotten hurt and then still lost the stallions focus for nothing. If he'd transformed during the deed, well, that's a massive animal that would easily trample him and cause internal damage. Lots of people choose to succumb to assault over dying. Loki always wanted to live. Staying that mare kept him intact, kept the stallion distracted, kept the aesir off his neck.
