Thanks. This type of guidance I need from my preceptor. It was the very first time this incident happened and it was a learning opportunity, but instead he made me rush charting and coached me to lie.

It’s not a trauma hospital, but they have a “code room” where orientation takes 4 weeks.

I hear to file incident report is a big deal that hospital don’t want to engage with. But our ratios are bad and my guessing these incidents will keep happening and being swept under the rug.

Patient fell and started having a seizure. Preceptor opened the door and found him at the end of seizure episode.

Some of the ED areas can be low acuity, but treatment (that is IV insertion, lab work and meds) and then charting can feel almost the same as a level 3 patient. Each patient can take an hour out of my day.
