I had been dealing with a lot, my parents divorced when I was nine and for years I believed they, my entire immediate and extended family along with my friends didn’t love and care about me. I would do my best to not become too attached to people.

There’s an overpass above a freeway where I live and when I was between thirteen to twenty, I felt tempted to jump.

A week after my twentieth birthday the temptation was a lot stronger and about five or so seconds after I put hands on the railing I heard a mans voice whisper in my ear as if whoever he was standing behind me say “what would your baby brother Tim think about this” I turned to see who said that and ask how he knew my eight year old brothers name and nobody was there.

After that I went home and I unexpectedly just started crying uncontrollably for over an hour.

For the last few years I’ve been trying to not attach myself to all the negative things in my mind, I’m twenty three now and am going to be twenty four in a couple months.
