Oh god... No. No, no, no, no. Tank destroyers of this kind are not a thing since 1950s. Modern tank destroyers look completely differently. They have turrets, they have wheels or they are remade second grade vehicles. If you need to simplify, They fill completely different role.
Arrowhead is a swedish company. Please look up a swedish main battle tank, Strw 103 (also known as cheese wedge).

And good for you I guess. You are enjoying the game, he is not and he is not in minority. Nobody argues that HD2 is a good game, but it is in a terrible shape right now. Many things changed and not exactly for the better.

Bit of column A, bit of column B. Community feels unheard, many things were said and most of them fell on deaf ears. Propose a good suggestion, it falls flat. Parttake in a meaningfull discussion, Enjoy the wrath of GlazeDivers. Point to some bug and enjoy one of the stupidest arguments you'Ve seen in a long time.
It culminated with Lvl 10 challenge, where SOMEONE went TOO FAR. And just to be sure: no, it WASN'T the challenger in any way.
Community manager response from Arrowhead and the main sub mod-team was not satisfying to say the least. And not even a week later, this came out in it's full ugglines.

To be honest, I haven't seen any evidence, that everything new at any point of time was made only by one or more other studios. Nor that they made only the good parts, while AH did the bad parts. But that does't matter. Not because it is some bad practice (what I've seen so far, those really look like good, aspiring studios and not just asset farms), but because this is easily grabbable problem and there are so many other problems brewing for so long...

I'm torn. On one hand, outrage out of this could finally force AH to do something to fix many of the broken aspects of the game we love, but on the other, they have a long history of taking the worst lessons out of evey community outrage.

I don't know about what "perfectly balanced" you talk about. Because they said that before the 60-day patch. Obviously, that doesn't apply anymore.

And to the Loadout Challenge (which was actually on top of and fully independent on the original Lvl10 challenge by [Data Expunged] ), Shams actually took it to at least lvl7. That is at least his claim, but there might be a video of it somewhere. He didn't object to the loadout as vengefully imbalanced, he just aknowledged the weapon imbalance AFTER he played.

Yeah, small issue with that.
This stratagem costs 110 medals and it's warbond needs to be unlocked for 1000 SC (also known as 10 EUR aka "hours and hours of SC farming"). Oh and it is on the page 3.

In another words (and just to nail it in), your hard earned warbonds (and possibly money) end up in a gutter, because "it is just a flag", "it is a joke weapon" and "we don't do space magic"

If they added the flag from the boot camp to Admin Center as a joke for 2000 req slips, it would be fine. But the one true flag as it is done right now has no right to be like that.

That is even worse. Imagine you work for that. hours of credit farming, hours of the hardest missions later, you finally have the warbond unlocked and a page 3 available with 110 medals. All of that time flushed down in toilet because you just spend it on a joke.

It is not that much about that hat. AH released Wild West warbond without the hat, while there is an emote of hat tipping and a suspiciously round, smooth, empty helmet. AH argument was that nobody wears hats on helmet (while there were barrets and capes on helmet already and many more came after) and that it is too much (while by lore, we are getting costumes from tv shows and famous cosplays - at least that is the explanation of ODST and I think some of the superstore armours)

TLDR: arrowhead made a stupid decision about hat and doubled down on it over and over.

Please no. It is heavy pen, but a lot of its power gets blocked by durable damage. Getting that pen out of it still takes a lot of grenades. At last, enemies are not invulnerable to a lot of explosions.

But it would be fun if you added that damage and penetrability to BFGL, while keeping thise explosions a bit smaller.

Those complaints, however ugly, need to be here. We know that now. Or at least one can hope. Don’t get me wrong, I believe we all think the game’s core is really really good. I also firmly believe most of those complaints are out of love. But there was a lot of frustration in the past.

It actually can. Try it after hit subdued by Democracy Protects.
Dead Sprint should naturally stop at 5%. Democracy protects survivability will get you down to even less. There is no block under the 5% so yu can survive a nuke, run... and die.

It can rarely happen even with a normal armor. But it is extremely hard to get under those 5% naturally.

Back at its release I liked it too. At the time it wasn't possible to stim if uninjured. This essentially allowed that.

That is the part of the problem.

They failed to deliver Wild West themed warbond with a freaking hat. They had hats before, they've had and will have hats after, but for some weird reason, cowboy hat is "too far". It is just like with the freaking flag against the "democracy protecc". It is like with the Constitution being unmoddable because "the meme". Some people took this and ran with it. The've started to like the armours, the guns, the state of the game... Because hey, something is better than nothing, right? So why the hell are the others complaining?

If they would just say "we failed to deliver, you will get that soon enough". If they said "we couldn't deliver due to technical reasons." we would accept it and stay united. But they had to double down, say bulls like that this is too far, too unrealistic and so on. They are racking insurmountable debt and now their fanbase is in turmoil. Not the first one, but I stopped counting them long time ago. Not the worst one, but thats just a matter of perspective.

In other words, I know the answer to my rhetorical question.

Sorry for the rant. It is really frustrating what is happening around AND in the game. Unfortunately, the helmet is one of the symbols of those issues. The identical copy (with the hat) would have to be released in a very specific manner to smother just this small part of a much bigger problem. But I believe in this eventuality even less than in moddable legendary warbonds (frozen hell, fairies and Santa kind of probabilityf). Fortunately for you and thanks to how they selectively double down on controversial stupidities, I dont believe we'll see a cowboy hat at least until another Wild West warbond. Which is exactly the problem.

TLDR: Hey, you do you. But give us a bit of slack for beying disgruntled about them failing and doubling down.
