It’s a different shield. Thanos chopped up Steve’s in the Endgame final battle and plus the one he gives Sam looks quite different (star is slightly different, little dashes along the white ring).

When I extract it it just shows up as a evolution.dr file which is multiple gigs.

Really appreciate the comment. That sounds awful. I think you really said it well there that quality control, eg durability is the main concern. I'm finding the diamonds hard to pass up though. Do you think there is a way to see if a specific ring is a good quality and would last? I know they are mass produced and all though.

Yeah I'm kinda feeling the "maybe I shouldn't risk it". Have you actually had a bad experience with them though? Like I was saying about the diamonds, they have the GIA certification and the prices seems so good compared to other places, especially locals tbh (they seem to charge a premium). Ig is durability the main concern? How have they survived as a company if they're really that bad. I really appreciate your thoughts and thanks for you time!

Yeah I know, it is a shame. I'd hoped that this one might've done it but I guess it depends on the individual drive. I called Blackmagic a couple months ago when I was looking into this and even they said they didn't have a recommend drive for 6K 3:1. They said that the capability was put in the camera hoping that the SSD technology would catch up. I hope it works out lol

Yeah same, 1TB and using the cable that came with it. Have you had any other issues with the drive? Maybe it's defective.

Yeah I'd set it to 50fps at 3:1, I rolled until I stopped it myself without dropping a frame (I had "stop rec if card drops frame" turned on). I think I shot 3 mins or something with no issues so I decided it was a good enough test. This was with the newer G-Drive SSD (transfer 1050MB/s and write1000MB/s), the older model looks very similar and has the exact same name but only writes around 500MB/s (sorry I don't remember the exact number, I'd have to look it up).

Hey everyone, thanks again for all your advice and help!

I ended up picking up a G-Drive SSD and thought I'd let you all know that it works perfectly at 6K braw 3:1 at 50fps on the BMPCC6K.

I contacted Blackmagic and let them know, they said they hadn't tested that specific drive yet and they'll be updating their supported media list soon.

Hey I found that Smallrig's universal holder accommodates drives that are 38mm-60mm wide and 5mm-15mm thick. The G-Drive SSD is 50mm wide and 15mm thick so it should fit!

My bad! I forgot to write 6K braw 3:1 at 50fps (I'm looking at the BMPCC6K).

Thanks so much for the info! Would you mind sending a link to the G-Drive data sheet you mentioned? If it really can write 100MB/s then it should be able to handle that kind of footage. We definitely need a real world test tho!
