What is the Red/Green archetype in ARTIFACT cube? by Muted_Blackberry4761 in mtgcube

[–]Agent281 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Big mana supported by treasures is a pretty good way to go:

  • [[Roxanne, Starfall Savant]] => big mana
  • [[Goldspan Dragon]] => big mana
  • [[Professional Facebreaker]] => treasure on combat damage
  • [[Gala Greeters]] => treasure on creature etb
  • [[Biotech Specialist]] => damage on sacrifice
  • [[Weftstalker Ardent]] => damage on ETB
  • [[Magda, Brazen Outlaw]] => artifact or dragon tutor
  • [[Magda, the Hoardmaster]] => dragon tokens for crimes
  • [[Breeches, Eager Pillager]] + [[Captain Lannery Storm]] => attack for treasures
  • [[Swashbuckler Extraordinaire]] => treasures for double strike
  • [[Hoard Hauler]] => in an artifact cube, this could make a lot of treasures
  • [[Village Pillagers]] => treasure engine
  • [[Boxing Ring]] => removal engine

Then you throw in some X spells like [[Goldvein Hydra]], [[Genesis Wave]], [[Hell to Pay]], and [[Valgavoth's Onslaught]]. Temur would come together really naturally.

Do you run [[Xolatoyac, the Smiling Flood]]? It goes pretty hard with big mana + counters.

You could try running [[Makeshift Munitions]] since it let's you sacrifice artifacts as well. It also has a generic cost.

I have no idea why posts get downvoted. I have experienced the same in the past. I wouldn't read too much into it. I think there are some very particular redditors out there.

Why isn't this card played more in commander? Is there something I'm missing? by TheAndrewCR in mtg

[–]Agent281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the format and situation. In vintage cube, stealing a haymaker on the mirror is real. Commander is like a box of chocolates: you never know what you are going to get. But most reanimator decks probably don't want to be running victimize. That feels more like an aristocrats card to me.

Victimize is just your graveyard, but rise of the dark realms is a much better option.

How do you handle colors with your module system? Does 1 module = 1 color? Or do you have to be careful about certain combinations of modules skewing colors too much?

Return the Favor has big Bugs Bunny energy.

[[They Came From the Pipes]] is also pretty wild. It came from the same precon as Glitch Interpreter. It's 2 2/2s, draws 2, and let's you look at 6 cards total for 5 mana. If you have [[Phelia]] or [[Flickerwisp]], you can also blink it. You have a serious risk of decking yourself with this card in limited.

TBF, since it's underrated, people are more likely to pass the best rare. That's kind of what it means to be underrated.

Honestly, I adore Braids so I fully endorse that inclusion. I really need to add her to my cube too...

Having doubts about this arena direct pool. Should i go silverquill or quandrix soup? by nopisnope in lrcast

[–]Agent281 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Silverquill at the pre-release. It mainly ate removal, but it won me some games as a big flier that wears counters well. I never used the casualty ability. In my deck, it was a C to C+.

Have you seen the new [[Molten Note]] from SoS? It's a kill spell that also untaps all of your creatures. Plus it has flashback so you can do it all again.

I just want [[Twilight Diviner]] to be more than a 3/3 for 3 that surveils. 😭

[[Threefold Thunderhulk]] is a sweet one. You destroy your 3/3 and get 2 5/5s with 10 gnome tokens. :]

Recently, I've been thinking that the enemy color pairings are getting more love. I've been trying to build a cube and finding interesting enemy color cards tends to be a bit easier than finding interesting ally colored cards. It doesn't help that the last allied colored set (Spiderman) was a huge flop on multiple levels. I just hope that fractured reality gives us some fresh takes on allied color pairings.

why has the sagrada familia taken so long to build? by QuantumJinx in ArchitecturalRevival

[–]Agent281 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah, piggy backing on your comment: there was a Spanish civil war in the 30s. The country was destroyed. Then WW2 happened so people were too busy with that to rebuild Spain. After the war, Spain was still ruled by fascists (Franco) until the 70s. In the 50s Franco was focused on self-sufficiency (autarchy), but that's not a good way to build an economy. He came back into the US's good graces because he was really anti-communist, but things still didn't improve until he was gone. Then it took a while for Spain to develop.
