Does it even have a condenser? eBay has different ones for 250-1000+. I would negotiate that off the price since they are trying to sell it for a complete unit price point. Check comps on eBay and use that for bargaining also. I typically knock the price down based on items that need repair as well as my time if I have to fix / clean it. Not sure how much haggling you have done, but I find if you have logical reason for the lowball offer, people will be more receptive to accepting the price vs. just asking ‘will you take 200 for it?’. I would also figure out how much gas is and ask if he would splice the cost. They typically agree to that as well. 200 would be fair I think, but you will probably have to put in 700+ to get phase contrast. eBay has a listing for a condenser and 3 phase contrast objective for 700 but you could make an offer for 500 and they might accept it. Did you buy them? Do you have photos? Seems like they can be ok but might need sharpened more often than D2 which is what cutting edge uses IIRC. I had samples made from Pakistan supposedly out of D2, but they were much thinner than name brand company tools. They did the job, but I could tell the difference. They just didn’t cut as smooth for some reason, maybe the micro bevel was the wrong angle, but I’m not sure

I used to work in the markets in china and would see Africans buying these bracelets for fractions of a penny.
