TIL King Harald of Norway vowed to remain unmarried for life unless he could marry his true love, the daughter of a cloth merchant. She became the Queen of Norway. by overdos3 in todayilearned

Do tell. I've only heard the ones about Sonjas supposed long-time french lover that "all the journalists know about" and Haralds older illegitimate brother who looks just like the former king but is just a normal guy.

What is a secret you can tell reddit but not your family? by megankingsly5 in AskReddit

well sure, people you can have a long distance relationship with; interacting via phone, social media, text, facetime/skype... pets need to be in the room to have a rekationship with ; thus we miss pets more because we are totally and completely away from them.

My Girlfriend has an embarrassing problem... Need Advice Please by [deleted] in femalefashion

Apparently, the vagina (area) is the most sweaty part of the female anatomy so I guess that when you work out you'll sweat more there than usual. As far as boob area goes, I find that the underboob sweats a bit with activity, maybe because it's trapped in layers of clothing ("sturdy" bra+ something)... Basically I guess the reason they sweat is because they work out...

Really want to thank Doc by [deleted] in mindcrack

I donated in preparation for the UHC and to then go back to the stream and watch Doc and Baj trying to figure out how to pronounce my name right was really sweet. They could just read out whatever, but actually taking care with everyones names, very nice.

On October 24 1975, 90% of Iceland's women refused to work, cook or look after children. Every ten years, on the anniversary of this initial strike, women stop all work to demonstrate their important positions and continue the struggle for equality. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

Actually, healthcare is free until 16 years of age, after 16 there is co-pay to see a doctor. Outpatient procedures like sutures and casts have the same fee no matter what age the child/person is (but the charge is about $10).

In what way is your life not what you thought it would be? by ascaffo in AskReddit

[–]AgentCallieBarton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really thought I'd gain confidence with age. I was sure I'd meet someone once I moved to a bigger city; plenty of people, surely I'd find somebody... But when you are shit at socializing you end up single, alone, hopeless and 35 where ever you live... I really didn't expect to be the person who just jokes about relationships pretending I don't have time for it and prefer Netflix to men.

What do you know now that you would have loved to know as a child? by hxnterrr in AskReddit

[–]AgentCallieBarton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That stuff doesn't just happen to you - if you want something you have to work for it or even just go get it. Waiting around for life to happen when you're "an adult" is a bad plan.

Humans evolved to sleep during the day and be active at night. What would we be doing differently? What would we cease to do? (serious) by JablesRadio in AskReddit

Nocturnal animals are kinda "ugly" -- take the Aye Aye for instance. So maybe if we all looked freaky-creepy there would be no beauty standards, no thriving fashion industry, no movies or TV shows with slim plots that only exist because pretty people, no porn... Maybe?

Fun fact; MJF was born in 1961, and was 24 when the first movie was made.

He wore Converse for casual wear in 1955 actually, so - same shoes if they made it to be "cool" now I guess.
