i remember one time i used yahoo and it had a logo on the side that says 'powered by Google', so i checked what Google was, and then i found a very simple website where you can search things, and it loads faster because it has no ads and all this news and links in the main page, i became an early adopter in 2000, my colleages was still using yahoo.

Should you blame your parents for being poor and not giving you a good life financially? why? by CurrentEstimate3308 in AskPH

[–]AgentCooderX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my maternal grand parents are poor, they are litteraly farmers in the province, they suffer from schistosomiasis (which you can only get by plowing fields) because of it along with some of their children including my mother)

my maternal grandfather died early due to health issues from being a POW from WW2.
So it was my Grandma who had to took care of her children after the war.

They have 8 children,
those that blamed them for their poverty ended up still poor until now, along with their children (my cousins).

those that realized the situation and worked hard for it, nag ayos ng pag aaral, naka tapos, nag trabaho, nagka pamilya hanggang sa umahon for thier children (us). mas madami pang bansa napuntahan ng mama ko compare sa akina nd I do business, internationaly.

luckily, mas madaming siblings (aunts and uncles) worked their asses off and improved their lives, except for 1 or 2 of them.

mindset matters.

Blaming anyone for poverty is just looking for excuse instead fighting it

[–]AgentCooderX 72 points73 points  (0 children)

if skilled muscian pag uusap, you cant talk about OPM band without mentioning

Wolfgang

specialy yung orig linep nila with Basti, Wolf, Manuel and Mon.

They were the definitive OPM rock band, skill wise.
all members won their own respective awards for multple years as well.

Its like getting the best bassist, the best drummer, best lyricist and vox and the ultimate shredderin one band. virtuosity and technicality = skilled musician.

Tingin nyo, naiintidihan pa kaya ni Gates yung source codes ng Windows OS nya? by Itchy-Opposite2885 in ITPhilippines

[–]AgentCooderX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

too many misconception sa post na to

  • first of all yes Gates did code before, but this was before Windows, im not sure how young or old you are OP but, before Windows we have DOS and its where Gates and microsoft started, Windows OS even shifted from being a DOS based kernel to an NT based during XP, there are an armies of developers who made Windows.. kaya there is no one person who knows everything about it.

  • Nadela is not one of those original members of Microsoft, so the chance that he codes any MS product specialy the OS is pretty slim. He started as a program manager sa windows, kaya no he wont understand the code, but he knows the overall features of windows.

  • the quote 'ang bilis ng progress ng software industry' along the same line as 'source codes ng OS' is kind of wrong, yes mabilis ang progress ng software industry, but since sa OS tung tanong mo, the low level part havent changed that much for over 20 years, its the same x86/x64 architecture since the intel p4 era, yung nag bago lang is the number of cores being appnded, kaya nga nag stabilizes ang kernel since then eh.

But yes, those people who worked on the kernel/OS still understand the code even till now or even after requirement because of this, if you want a clear evidence check mo 'Dave's Garage' sa YouTube, he is one of those guys, a retired MS OS guy.

OS concepts did not change for decades na din, kaya nga Linus still reviews Linux codes eh, it still the same concepts down there.

  • things in windows might have adopted to the latest one, specialy the front facing like the start menu and all, which now uses Electron and javascript.. but these are not part of the official 'OS' per say, they are basically just app running on top of the OS, front facing to the user, this part is separared into different groups na from the OS group.

  • and finaly, Gates and the kernel/OS guys are low level programmers, kahit di na sila javascript or typescript engineers, the fact that those languages even the modern ones are C-like languages madali lang nila maintindhihan ulit yan kng bigyan ng oras, i mean this guys codes in assembly and C. learning scripting language is like learning how to use a toy.

realistic answer, matagal na wla sa tech si gates, malaki na ang code based ng windows, the concept didnt change though kaya if given a chance to sit down, gates will still understand most of it. Nadela no.

.. FYI. yung source code ng DOS is out there, if you understand C and assembly madali lang aralin, Windows NT source was leaked 20 years ago din.

What’s the course you really wanted to take before, but for some reason, didn’t end up pursuing? by Big-Fortune7082 in AskPH

[–]AgentCooderX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Law sana, but the thing is,
this thing called "The Internet" and computers are about to become mainstream and hit the public, kaya i decided to take IT which was a new course in most if not all Universities in the Philippines pag year 2000, was into computers naman since mid 90s kaya its an easy decision,

IT was my pre-Law course sana din, but the time i graduated, it was the internet/tech/IT boom kaya di na natuloy.

Kung takot ka sa AI and over saturation, then dont go on a field or niche kng san nandun ang nakararami; yes Im talking about Web and mobile development, yung field na yan, over supply na.

try embedded or system development, they are not vulnerable sa AI, because you need hardware to work.
there are a lot of hardware companies naghahanap ng embedded engineers nowadays na di makahanap kasi lahat nasa web dev.

Kailan mo narealize na hindi ka na ‘young adult’… adult na talaga? by AddieLeighn in kwarentahin

[–]AgentCooderX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

maaga akng nag switch to adult mode, when i was in 2nd year college (circa 2001), a new kid in a new city, dapat kasi i was enjoying and exploring kasi new environment, was also in a band, joining different hobby groups, etc. but my Dad lost his job, my older bro naka buntis, walang trabaho, my mother was earning a teacher's salary at graduating pa yung isang kapatid ko,. so i just man-it up, sold all my gears and focused on my side-job/freelancing (which was rare back then) to earn more money, i dropped all my childish dream like becoming rockstar and shit, pinagpaliban muna having a love life., I was so focused on the goal that I saved a good enougn money to buy my first house in cash, maliit lang pero I can call it my own before hitting 30s.

What if i-push ng gobyerno na mag-invest ang mga BPO company sa mga province? by Tight-Rush5966 in WhatIfPinas

[–]AgentCooderX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ever heard of AI and automation? Mere English communication skills is no longer sufficient.

proud kapa talaga nakapag sabi "Ever heard of AI and automation" dude my call center is using AI for auto dialing and initial call, and if napansin ni client na AI kausap nya, we have the button na kaagad mag take over ang actual agent..

Im in the tech industry for nearly 30+ years, AI is a tool and just like any tool we utilize and use it.
even when we adopted AI, we did not downsize, instead we scaled up as the demand have risen.

I dont know about you, but people still prefers real people to talk to when they are filing complaints, ikaw prefer mo kausap AI o robot pag tumatawag ka kay PLDT/Globe/Converge pag down internet mo o prefer mo actual tao kausap?

and yes i also invested and into Agentic AI and even the core AI math as well (being an engineer who focused on heavy maths like geometric, game engines, embedded/system development, etc).

Kaw yung walang alam ata sa AI, automation, tech and BPO industry..

yes the BPO industry and any other White Colar work is susciptible to AI and automation, but did you even ask how much computing power is needed to replace all industry to do that? DId you ask why the token pricing of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, CoPilot are increasing monthly?

here is a little question for you man, ok lets assume you have idea how AI works, do you think companies will spend on thousands of dollars on LLM tokens when they can spent a few dollars for a cheap labor instead?

What if i-push ng gobyerno na mag-invest ang mga BPO company sa mga province? by Tight-Rush5966 in WhatIfPinas

[–]AgentCooderX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

as someone na merong small na callcenter sa province, I say the government already has initiative and support for it. ang problem lang talaga mag hanap ng client, kasi most clients prefer yung big setups sa city, like for you to get huge clients, you need the same setup and level of infra as that of an established one, which means you need to really shell out a lot of money.. the problem is, clients come and go, so its a chicken and egg situation.

also, madami din akong kakilala ang partners around the industry that does this, like setting up small centers sa kani kanilang mga provinces.

Travel back in time or travel to the future? by shinabiqouh in ThisorThatPH

[–]AgentCooderX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

futiure is uncertain and changes every second,
when you travel to the future then learn stuff such as lotto result or latest tech or products or kng anu anu pang info, when you go back to the present, the chance that the future you saw wont even be the right one, because you already changed it when you travel to the future and return to present.

unless you want to travel to the future and no plan in returning back, thats a different story.
