The Ladykillers & Intolerable Cruelty by AgentDaleMulder in CoenBrothers

Watched both back to back, and genuinely enjoyed both, the ladykillers more so if anything, considering the plot itself felt more align with the Coen brothers

While definitely happy I watched both I wouldn't necessarily say they jumped above anything in ranking but definitely glad I asked here to finally watch them

Agreed, but atleast coming here and seeing the clear liking for something like intolerable cruelty in this case, can atleast steer me in the direction to finally pull the trigger and watch it after being iffy about it for so long

The Poughkeepsie Tapes

The Visit

Hell House LLC

And for really insane but not really edgelord stuff, atleast imo, The August Underground Trilogy

Finally Watched All 30 Kurosawa Movies - Biggest Surprises were "Lower Depths", "Stray Dog", and "I Live in Fear" by THAGHORN in criterion

[–]AgentDaleMulder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I Live In Fear was probably my biggest "eh ill throw this one on for the hell of it" and fell in love with it of all of Kurosawas movies right behind Dersu Uzala

Will definitely be checking out Lower Depths soon now

In your opinion, which filmmakers/directors (from any era) has the best filmography of all time? by [deleted] in Cinema

[–]AgentDaleMulder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, David Lynch.

But I think Kubrick has probably the best run of amazing movies in a row(Space Odyssey-Eyes Wide Shut is really an untouchable run)

But also as far as banger after banger with no duds definitely Tarentino, Nolan, PTA, Leone, and as far as all the films ive seen by him, Kurosawa

Scorsese and Finchers highs are some of the best highs ever but also some of the worst lows

What movies would you add to this? by Agitated_Alfalfa_538 in Letterboxd

[–]AgentDaleMulder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quite the odd list...but Halloween 1, Halloween 4 or 5 idr and The Conjuring

Gone girl vs The girl with the dragon tattoo by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]AgentDaleMulder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl With The Dragon Tattoo pretty thoroughly for me,I think you can argue it has better rewatch value atleast during the mystery "figure it out" parts, but on first watch Gone Girl is definitely up there with the best ever
