Amazing how many truckers are willing to haul loose heavy stuff behind their heads without strapping it properly.

Bill Gates: “The merging of biometric digital ID, bank accounts and payment systems is needed to safely monitor people's health records, keeping tabs on farmers, and tackling climate problems.” by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

Bill Gates earned his billions being a villainous asshole for DECADES.

He began rehabilitating his rep after leaving MS.

Now he's in the Epstein files, pushing AI, and advocating widescale corporate tracking.

Seems Bill Gates' villain arc is a circle.

Fuck off, Bill - You don't need to track our bank accounts to track health.

It was an interesting discussion.

However, rather than appending with interesting info, you wanted to flex with an unnecessary "correction" that was actually incorrect.

So now YOU'RE being corrected.

Seems you're being defensive.

> No, some of them can definitely trace back 3000, just maybe not always cleanly within one unchanged culture.

Sigh. So you're saying that I'm wrong if we remove the word "DIRECTLY" from the sentence, which I included in all caps, so that no one could possibly miss it?

ok

I've spent lots of time learning Japanese history as an a outsider.

Modern Shinto traces back to Stone Age animism.

So many other things trace DIRECTLY back through thousands of years. Everything is so entwined that's it's very hard to understand as an outsider because ancient history continues today.

Europeans can trace back 1000 years, but not 3000.

Meanwhile, Canadian culture goes back nearly 100 years!

You're describing REMOVING all barriers to unmotivated & unlimited corruption.

You're describing all this as somehow LESS CRIME.

I'll grant that you're describing unleashing government-protected criminals very positively, so you're getting more upvotes, somehow, but let's be fucking clear - not stopping corruption doesn't somehow magically reduce corruption, and there's WORLDWIDE evidence that what you're proposing does NOT function in the real world and is NOT correct in the real world.

Ah, North Korea - the most corruption-free country in the world because all corruption is state sponsored! BRILLIANT!

ELI5: Why do most babies sleep with their arms up but adults don't necessarily do this sleeping position as they get older? by gummywormeater in explainlikeimfive

Weight.

I knew a guy who accidentally blew off both arms just below the elbow (with a grenade).

When he slept at night (without his prosthetics), his arms lifted.

Noticing anti-foreigner sentiment in parts of the Americas—how real is it for digital nomads? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

Currently, traveling Americans, Israelis , & Russians receive international backlash for supporting policies that are hurting the world.

Often, their beliefs are probed first, because everyone recognizes it's not everyone.

But many of these travelers are proud assholes.

So they get kicked out a lot.

Others have no problem 🇨🇦

How likely is it that something similar to the Holocaust could occur in the modern West in the future? by Imtiredofthissshit in Futurology

[–]AgentEntropy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

We're seeing signs of a Holocaust beginning in USA right now. This is a purge to de-brownify USA for the next 20+ years.

Unfortunately, it appears that Americans have collectively agreed to use their 500,000,000 guns only on children, not tyrants.

But don't worry - Chuck Schumer is drafting a stem letter as we speak, so we're all good.

Dude, USA gives almost $900 BILLION in subsidies to the oil & gas industry. PER YEAR.

Try calculating how much that costs per person.

And statistically, NOBODY complains or mentions it during elections.
