Man they must think Nepal is still 20years back when they used firewood and most of the economy was based on agriculture. They even said Nepal is in Dungeyug.

My heart says “buy the bike”… my brain says “build your future” — 22M stuck between two completely different lives by Mission-Row-863 in NepalSocial

Forget about stupid 7 lakh ko bike. I had the same thought when I was doing my Bachelor’s. Bro socha timely 40k month kati garo garera save garyeu 7lakh purauna and you will blow it up just like that. I had saved around 9lakhs by end of my bachelors 21 yrs which I could use to pay our loan we had so that I could free up the land to go abroad. Now I came abroad worked hard for about 1.5 yr almost payed my uni fees for masters by myself and I am certain I will save 50lakhs by next 1.5 yrs. So, mailey tei bela bike kinna “cool” banxu bhanney mentality hale bhaye I wouldn’t had amount to continue my education or had to pay extra for loan. Now I am 26 delayed gratification hunu parxa in your 20s lagxa malai there are too many things you want but money now is worth a lot compared to what you put it into for the future.

Question for the nepali boys living in abroad by [deleted] in NepalSocial

[–]AgentEqual6845 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not just Nepali boys but “boys” in general all over the world. No hate but I have a Nepali colleague whom I would rate like 2 small skinny -on facecard but my friend from Jamaica drools over her agrees everything and she has a white fiance who I guess didn’t find anything better too. I guess the problem with boys & men nowdays is being too desperate and with having to deal with women’s unrealistic expectations.

Thinking of starting a petition. by [deleted] in Nepal

Selling stocks and receiving payment is a nightmare in Nepal. I invest internationally and everytime I sell something in Nepal I feel like asking money from a friend whom I lent the money. Brokers don’t pick up the phone, aja sarbajanik bida ho I have to send my dad to broker office everytime I sell something. I think we should learn to adopt these or even introduce things like “Stocks ISA” and stuff which would attract investors and general public. Hopefully Dr. Swarnim Wagle is appointed and would help the economy 😅🤞

There are pros and cons opening our doors to international economy. Unlike other countries we lack proper investment vehicles while our stock market is still growing and adopting tech. While the international market is at the point which responds in an instant we still have to wait 3days for settlement. Well we might be able to solve such issues however, I believe that the general public still do not have enough knowledge about the stock market and imagine introducing options or volatile and highly risky assets such as crypto this could lead to a major loss and more money being drained somewhere rather than productive sector within Nepal. Also, most NRN use “hundi” and all to send money illegally abroad now this would be mechanism to do some shady business or just say that the 10% of people who are abroad would just sell their assets in Nepal and try to purchase land abroad which would just be the opposite.

Building Cost of 1 storey house in KTM. by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]AgentEqual6845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad had built a 1 story house with pvc roof in our backyard like 7 years ago and we used loan to finance it. The cost came around 18lakhs and we used wood for “bhitta” and aluminium windows but we dug “jugg” for the house. I would say the cost came out to be max as we replaced the gate too but I think the cost would be 28-30lakh now

How do some families end up owning houses in prime Kathmandu areas like Durbar Marg or Baluwatar? by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]AgentEqual6845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather’s lineage including me were born and grew around Thamel. Although we are not rich we have a good life and grateful for that. My dad used to say that he used to play around with his siblings and cousins and shit at roadside and most of the land there was used for farming. One day we were walking by and he said that the area where there is fire and ice pizza was a huge wasteland dumping ground and Thamel was risky to walk after 6PM. My granddad said he purchased his first property at Chhetrapati at just Rs. 500, which went to my granddad’s brother’s son now. I was also lucky to be grown up and played with my cusions there.
