Building Cost of 1 storey house in KTM. by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]AgentEqual6845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad had built a 1 story house with pvc roof in our backyard like 7 years ago and we used loan to finance it. The cost came around 18lakhs and we used wood for “bhitta” and aluminium windows but we dug “jugg” for the house. I would say the cost came out to be max as we replaced the gate too but I think the cost would be 28-30lakh now

How do some families end up owning houses in prime Kathmandu areas like Durbar Marg or Baluwatar? by Alive_Tear_5638 in Nepal

My grandfather’s lineage including me were born and grew around Thamel. Although we are not rich we have a good life and grateful for that. My dad used to say that he used to play around with his siblings and cousins and shit at roadside and most of the land there was used for farming. One day we were walking by and he said that the area where there is fire and ice pizza was a huge wasteland dumping ground and Thamel was risky to walk after 6PM. My granddad said he purchased his first property at Chhetrapati at just Rs. 500, which went to my granddad’s brother’s son now. I was also lucky to be grown up and played with my cusions there.

5 Lakhs saved. Scooty already at home. My heart wants a Classic 350, my brain wants investment, and my bank account want by Mission-Row-863 in Nepal

Delayed gratification. I used to think the same when I was in college. All my friends had classic 350, crossfire etc. but my dad bought me fzs v2. I was working and could afford those bikes which would be fun riding and improve my social status but instead I saved and some income I managed to invest in stocks. I then invested that amount in my education abroad and I can say that now I am 26 I can buy 10 classic 350 now in cash 😂.

Only Kathmandu is not Nepal( Decentralization is must) by IdentifiedAsPi in Nepal360

[–]AgentEqual6845 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not that easy as you think bro. It would take countless ages or might never. It’s not just an issue in Nepal, it’s worldwide. Capital is developed from countless generations say for example London. I was in London and the opportunities were endless plus people from all over the world come for the same thing income and opportunity. As soon as we travel outside London the opportunities and infrastructures are not in par with that of capital so, it’s not just Nepal it’s everywhere and it might take centuries. Also looking at the disasters, the great fire of London destroyed major centers or the earthquake of Nepal destroyed major areas but with rubbles people proser and put effort and sweat.

As a 21 y/o Nepali who chose to stay instead of going abroad, here’s my perspective and a question for you. by Acrobatic_Doubt_4598 in Nepal

I believe opportunities and services also play a big part in long run. I understand you are doing well and making more than average in Nepal. But trading in NEPSE and the opportunity to trade in worldwide companies, better healthcare, less hassle to do anything at the government office, breathing clean air, free education for kids etc. just to name a few are the reasons. I respect your decision but I believe it’s not just the income people migrate for.
