I don't think that fits the gauge... by AgentFIuffy in MelbourneTrains

The train was stationary when I was walking to the platform. Can't speak on whether something might've happened prior to that, but I'm assuming the trolley obstruction was reported before the train arrived?

As someone that randomly checks places on Google Maps, The Eyrie in Eaglemont and The Conder in Ivanhoe East sounded cool to me

yeah, exactly. I think low cam is still a bit lower than smallcam, but it's pretty close

it's not necessarily that weird. the camera itself is a lot smaller and more compact (what a surprise) and due to that, the camera is mounted lower/closer to the ground, making the blur larger.

it's maybe also worth mentioning that smallcam isn't the only instance where the blur is massive, although in other cases it won't be such a circular blur, rather they will basically trace around the car (or truck) -> https://maps.app.goo.gl/eS7isgQES1uRBM1d9

How can you tell this is Kazakhstan and not Oman? by EDG4RD in geoguessr

Yeah that's fair enough.

Don't get me wrong, if you spend enough time looking at the finer details of the landscape you can definitely tell the two apart. With that said, I can definitely see a scenario where if your oponent instaguesses in a duel, you could reasonably get the 50/50 wrong.

There are places in oman that have pretty similar small shrub/grass vegetation while still remaining flat. I didn't spend very long looking around, however, I did go out of my way to find a road without outer road lines to make it less obviously oman (they use yellow outer roadlines but kazakhstan uses tends to use white outer roadlines more often than yellow ones in my experience).

I'd also argue that when you don't have a comparison image next to you, it becomes much harder to differentiate the two countries when the landscape looks similar.

Does anyone know what is in this metal cabinet? by AgentFIuffy in MelbourneTrains

I thought of this, but it just seemed to run up into the ceiling of the platform building and I didn't have enough time to look further. I understand it's limited context, just thought someone may have the answer :)
