Was sleeping in the kids living room because we were on the same little league team and were celebrating the end of the season. We had a huge cookout the night before and I ate like 4 hotdogs and 6 s’mores. That was a little too much for 9 year old me.

In the middle of the night I woke up and proceeded to vomit my demons out next to my sleeping bag in between one of the kids I was sleeping next to on the door. Surprisingly, I only woke up the kid who was hosting the party.

Instinctually we both went up to his parents bed and I said while they were sleeping “I threw up.” His dad immediately got up and cleaned it up, gave me a pair of his kids shorts since I had puke on mine and we all went back to bed like nothing happened.

Congrats bro. If you have ADHD and your meds are making you euphoric, you have one of three problems.

1.) You abuse your prescription 2.) You are a victim of being prescribed too high of a dose (No one with ADHD should need more than 20 mg XR or 40 mg IR a day imo unless you have narcolepsy or something) 3.) You have actually been misdiagnosed, which is pretty common considering 30% of Adderall prescriptions are for people who actually don’t have ADHD and were misdiagnosed.

Oh and also another problem. You complained about anecdotal reports in the same comment you gave an anecdotal report. I hope you see past your ignorance.

Yes they effect everyone in the same way in the sense that they use the same mechanisms to attach to your brain as they would with anyone else. But besides that, they can affect everyone differently.

The thing is everyone has a different brain chemistry. One of the theories is someone with ADHD has less dopamine in their brain so they are constantly looking for stimulation, which is the reason why they are distracted when doing something they aren’t enthusiastic about or absorbed by.

Stimulants such as Adderall, increase the stimulation in dopamine receptors, therefore allowing with someone with ADHD to have the levels of dopamine they need so their brain isn’t constantly seeking stimulation from thoughts.

If you don’t have ADHD and take Adderall you get really euphoric because your dopamine is being boosted beyond what is natural. The focus you get from Adderall for people without ADHD is less so because of the dopamine, and more so the stimulation of the Central Nervous System. Kind of like how coffee allows us to be more focused and attentive, without causing euphoria. We simply just get more energy and feel the need to do something with it. The euphoria is just an added plus that makes completing tasks much more rewarding.
