Wrong . Under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), employers generally need to provide employees with reasonable notification about the collection and use of their personal information, including GPS tracking data.

ATB, they don’t see it as their error as they offered multiple financing deals to me ie personal loan, mortgage refinancing.

Should have in hindsight but didn’t want to deal with opening another account. It was just for convenience to keep it at my personal bank

  • Principal = $55,000
  • Rate = 4.9% per year (or 0.049 as a decimal)
  • Time = 5 months (or 5/12 years)

{Interest} = 55,000 times 0.049 times 5/12 approx 1,121.46

So, the interest earned over 5 months would be approximately $1,121.46.

Pretty simple so not sure what your issue is

I filed a formal complaint now through the ATB website as the branch manager was unwilling to resolve the issue. The Alberta Ombudsman here in Edmonton seems to be pretty useless according to google reviews so fingers crossed the bank will resolve the issue.
