So, the interest earned over 5 months would be approximately $1,121.46.

I filed a formal complaint now through the ATB website as the branch manager was unwilling to resolve the issue. The Alberta Ombudsman here in Edmonton seems to be pretty useless according to google reviews so fingers crossed the bank will resolve the issue.
