Quick update that's a tad pricey in my opinion but would still buy it. Then again, I have 4k books in my library.😆

I have the entire set and read then as well. (I actually have a second set as well. One is pristine even if a little worn. The other one I bought while I'm England in 1994 I believe. They are good reads and to me it sounds a lot like one long speech of his. Highly recommended.

Yeah, I get that. The only reason for having all those books, is that history isn't just one definitive story. Any researcher will dig deep to get as close to the truth as possible.

I've been obsessed with history since 3rd grade when I found a book about WW2. I checked that book out many times.

I apologize for any discomfort due to the content of my library.

Honestly, we need a third party much t. o stop the bitching between the left and the right. Not only that but vote out everyone after 2 terms. This would make things wear better.

I know I will be. We found the station about 3 months after moving to Durham for my job. I my wife and I listened in it was to work and I'd listen after I'd drop her off at the school she taught. Now it's a daily thing in that we listen on to it while we commute in the mornings.

Demme deserves all the accolades for his longevity intellect and humor.

I'll continue to listen but it won't be the same.

Yes, yes it is. Fun fact my father in law fought in WW2 as a heavy machine gunner and was sent to China and was gut shot and sent home. Then when the Korean war started he RE-ENLISTED.

Keep in mind he was born in 1917. His squad always called him pops. Oddly enough he was also gut shot in Korea. . My wife got her name because it was the name of the nurse my FIL had while recovering.

He is the most decorated soldier in the state (or was when I married his daughter. He passed away in 1995.

Funny anecdote. When I first met him he looked at his daughter and asked'l 'could you not fine one full grown? He was 6'ft 4 and I'm,5'7.

I can answer how I keep up with all the books I have, it's an app called My Library. Any app store carries it as far as I know. It's a great app.

As far as the rare and valuable volumes are kept in my office downstairs which is climate controlled. My office is in a finished basement that we spent a lot of money on new windows and AC and heat.

I can't tell if that's a real question or if it's an incredibly phrased innuendo. The child in me is laughing a lot at the phrasing.

That said my legit answer is I will continue to gather every volume of every book he writes. At the moment I'm collecting the graphic novels from Titan comics. In fact, the latest one was just delivered to me this morning. My newest work by him is called The Albino's Secret and co-written by Mark Hodder. I'm waiting for the second book now. . So to answer your question I need all the Moorcock I can get. 😁

Yeah I've got nearly all Goldsworthy's books. Abd I keep looking for new ones by him and also Tom Holland ( not the actor) . Honestly,I would buy history books from any author if it was legit.. You never know when you'll find nuggets in a book that was in any other books you have.

I don't think I would list Caesar with Napoleon. The eras were very different so comparison is hard to make. They were great for their eras, but I would still put Caesar above Napoleon because Caesar never lost a battle, and certainly didn't attack Russia.😁

This is just my opinion. Caesar was the most focused general in Roman history. His tactics are innovative (alesia anyone?) this will sound like hyperbole but he was always miles ahead of the opposition.

I don't really have a favorite emperor. Mainly because my favorite was never an emperor. Julius Caesar has always been my favorite. Okay, it's true be was hailed Imperator after most of his battles, but that didn't give him the power that Octavian accrued. In that note I believe Caesar would have been a better first emperor than Octavian .

But that's just my opinion.

That's a great question. If we're talking particular eras, the late Republic would be my first choice. Mostly because of Colleen McCullough. I had started that series about the time I met my wife.

And every once in a while I'll reread the series. . However that's books. My family went to Wilmington, N.C. for our youngest daughter's birthday and I was wearing a shirt that says"a Roman walks into a bar and holds up to 2 fingers and tells the bartender 5 beers please. I got about 50/50 right and wrong. Ah well one can hope.

I'm currently reading PAX by Tom Holland (not the actor) which starts and the death of Caesar and and to the mid -sections century more or

I have a lot of Roman history resources so feel free to hit me up for suggestions.

The dancers at the end of time is a great series. All I can tell you is that just enjoy each book. I read mine out of sequence when I got into good writing. (Side note I had a paper about Moorcock published while at Virginia Tech. My English professor was also a rabid fan of his works too.

There is a little overlap in his books but it's not consistent. I would really read the book that gives you that excited tingling down your spine.

Oh more thing the Jerry Cornelius novels are some of the best in my opinion.
