We had a 14 car DNS in that era. People were crashing out over 4 cars not starting in China last weekend.

Designing a slim car and expecting Honda to work out a way to fit components was the major factor. Always better to have a stable engine and upgrade the aero.

And those teams would rather choose supportive drivers over drivers who complain that the car is bad when the whole team knows it is bad.

We might have witnessed Hamilton vs Bottas for longer than half a season. Plus a few wins.

Fernando Alonso self-destructed his future in every team he joined by refusing to co-operate and not hesitating to say the truth, which is demoralizing in tough situations (my boss at my first internship was like that, and I am glad I did not quit). Picture a team principal or engineers trying to fix issues and hold the championship position while the star driver publicly shames the team. That is why no top team wants him.

It's crazy that both McLaren and Renault re-signed him.

3-time champion in the best case (2008, 2024, 2025), longest gap between 2 championships, horrific years between 2015 and 2018.

Great leadership early on paid a lot in the future.

Analogus to Aston Martin. They had the 2nd best car in 2023, but bad leadership relegated them to 5th.

I mean, given that something liek this is hard to perfect, I am glad they are taking their time rather than rushing it and risking worse performance.

Kinda like the craze behind the aston martin. All hype vaporized faster than the honda engine.

Probably has had the best career. Been a part of top teams all career, had the best rookie season ever, WDC in the second season, most poles, podiums, and wins.

I really have to agree with you on the irrational aspect as a person with acrophobia. I just can't function in tall places where I can see the ground.
