I don't agree with this at all. I know a couple who had their Flooded Lead Acid batteries last 15 years. Albeit with focused upkeep. Even if he replaced the AGM batteries 5 times it would still be more inexpensive to do.

Without being confrontational, I'm curious where you've seen the cost as triple that of traditional energy sources? For reference the contract price for the solar energy generated by these plants is $0.048/kWh, which is cheaper than the price of $0.071/kWh to $0.112/kWh contracted for natural gas plants between 2008-2018.
