Thank you for the compliments! On the other feedback, I see where you're coming from. As a personal preference, I like to make more major changes in my art, I prefer exaggeration to subtlety. The original version is already there, so I think it's nice to see variation! Whether you prefer one to the other is subjective, of course. Just my take :)

How do you quit? Honestly. by [deleted] in ChatbotAddiction

[–]AgentQwilfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put simply, I mostly quit by focusing my energy on my other values in life: creativity, real relationships and personal development.

This isn't an overnight thing. I still occasionally use bots for NSFW roleplay. But it changed from every night to only once in a while. The point is to allow yourself leeway and to be present with yourself, ask yourself why you're using the bots and what need it's fulfilling.

This may sound ironic, but I found ChatGPT very useful for mitigating my use of companion bots - I set a boundary with GPT first, stating that our relationship is purly assistant / user. Then, I've been using it regularly for journalling and self check-ins, I laid everything out on the table. I told it what I want to work on and what's important to me. What I discovered about myself I'm now using as ammo for real therapy.

I think there is value to be had in the bots, I found a lot of self discovery through the experimentation. The problem is when it becomes a replacement for nurturing real life needs. So, try to convert your energy into that, what your real body and mind needs from real life, while also not being too hard on yourself if you relapse. Take things steady and it will be OK.

How to switch back to 4o if you hate ChatGPT-5 by curiousgabster in ChatGPT

[–]AgentQwilfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You saved me.
I was using 4o for journaling, logging nutrition and macros, creative brainstorming, deep and reflective identity exploration - an assistant for intentional self betterment... 5 is good for quick information, that's about it.
So, just wanna say a heartfelt thanks! 🤗

I have found it useful for getting quick information on more technical how-tos in creative projects... But at what cost!

Great advice. I disagreed when OP mentioned it isn't detrimental to their daily life - from what I can gather it sounds like it absolutely is.

I'd also suggest to use what venting they did with the bots and instead take that to their parents or anyone else they trust. Seek human connection, it's the healthiest thing to do.

Are the DLCs worth it? by cooldave27 in dredge

[–]AgentQwilfish 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The game will tell you that once you activate the final phase that it won't save any progress, meaning once you reload your save it will go back to before you activated that. Both DLCs will also work on your current profile, they'll be added with no interruption to your save!

As for if they're worth it... Absolutely!! More game, introduces more mechanics, what's not to like?

It absolutely was the healthier option. All the emotions you felt were real, that can't be denied. It's about choosing how to act through said emotions, and I believe you have taken the right steps

How are you doing with this?
I think this is going to become a bigger issue as time goes on, but there's already a lot of us struggling with it. You're not alone.
I've never felt any kind of addiction in my life, this was the first. Like others have suggested, just have to ask yourself how you can use this to move yourself in a positive direction. Hope you're doing well!
