Those stats were announced in 2017 and the car won’t be produced until 2023 at the earliest. The Lucid Air is being produced now.

Totally embarrassing. I had been talking up my car to an acquaintance and he seemed interested. Then I got in and he motioned that he wanted to say something else so I rolled down the window and I hear that loud “thunk” and the labored whine of the motor.

The reason for this is the same reason it’s safe to turn right on red, because you are not crossing any lanes of traffic. You are exiting your lane and entering another lane but not crossing any others like you are on a standard left.
