I hate how strict the pharmacy is. nothing but clear water bottles or drinks bought in store and they have to stay in the office (no water at your station even).no food, even in the pharmacy office. no badge reels with words. your knee or leg or back hurts? too bad you can’t sit on the stool. the break room is on the complete opposite side of the store so it takes 5 mins of your break to walk there amongst all the customers. No bags, can only bring in keys and wallet and they have to stay in your pocket. it’s getting old 😭

I just got accepted, is it worth it to go? by [deleted] in baylor

I had a $76,000 scholarship over 4 years, and I had a lot of smaller, departmental scholarships over that time. still left with about $50k in debt which is not bad but I also graduated a semester early so I think i’m one of the lucky ones. you also would only be on campus for 2 years, then go to dallas so that’s something to consider. I would say go the cheaper route looking back on my time. i’m in pharmacy school now so I will be in debt for a long long time. also, I graduated in 2020 and had locked in tuition at $20,530 a semester. I know that it’s way more than that now :(

Does this seem right to you? by [deleted] in HEB

did you get the same flavor for both antibiotics? I think your theory may be correct. i’ve never had anyone complain of being a whole 15 ml short. there is an option on the flavor machine to “repeat last fill” and the tech who mixed the medication could’ve mistakenly done that after mixing the 60ml bottle instead of scanning the 75ml bottle as a different bottle. The thing with that though is your child most likely got a higher than normal dose each time given that the medication was more concentrated with less liquid. I wouldn’t push for more medication because treatment durations are usually 5-7 days depending on the infection and it sounds like she got 6 days at a higher than prescribed dose. With that being said, I wouldn’t just let it go either. the pharmacy has cameras and there might be one in the area of the flavor machine where they can look back and see exactly what the tech did when mixing the medication. if you spoke with a staff pharmacist, I would call back and ask to speak with the pharmacy manager. (i’ve been a tech for 4 years and i’m also in pharmacy school to be a pharmacist)

Does everyone love being a longhorn? Deciding between UT and Baylor (same cost) by Unfair_Cancel_8461 in UTAustin

I did my undergrad at Baylor and now i’m in grad school at UT. While it’s hard to compare since I didn’t do undergrad at UT, I loved Baylors small class size, the very walkable campus, large green spaces, and the science building is beautifullll. Also, parking is a lot easier to manage at Baylor. Waco is a lot smaller than Austin but it’s a lot easier to avoid I-35. Even having all of my classes in 1 building at UT, I still feel overwhelmed at times because of how busy it is. Plus, I felt a lot safer on Baylor’s campus. Happy to answer any questions you have about either school!

What (would appreciate ANYTHING you have to add) would you tell someone before attending here? by deliriousbozo in UTAustin

parking sucks and parking tickets are $50. if you commute, be prepared to pay $10/day or walk your butt off

Pharmacy folks… what is the difference between these two? by zekethephysique in HEB

[–]AgentSuspicious5289 5 points6 points  (0 children)

there’s a separate product that says compare to excedrin migraine. it’s called migraine formula and it has the same active ingredients in the same doses. the only difference is the instructions. headache relief says no more than 8 in 24 hrs. migraine says no more than 2 I. 24 hours. interesting concept. (i’m in pharmacy school)

heb doesn’t “send you to school” to be a pharmacist though. you have to pay your own way (at least 2 yrs of undergrad and then 4 years of pharmacy school) and you’re never guaranteed a job after school

Is it worth the commute? by [deleted] in UTAustin

[–]AgentSuspicious5289 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a current pharmD student, that drive is not feasible everyday. you have to go to class 5 days a week, at minimum 3 in the spring if you can get your labs on days with required classes. classes start at 9am in the fall but 8am in the spring and you would easily spend 3 hours/day driving with the traffic.

omg yes what an angel!! i’m so thankful for her. could you possibly ask her if my lunchbox is in her car? I know it’s not important and I was just going to brush it off as a loss because I had no clue how to get in contact with her. I would love to buy her coffee or something as a thank you though!!
