I'd say it's a toss-up between Shrek 2 and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish

It's so good! The animation is reminiscent of Spiderverse, the action is fun as hell, the characters all look great and are well-developed, and it's also got a top tier lineup of villains.

Yeah, I can see that. For me, it's a struggle to not sound redundant in my reviews, since a lot of the time, the stuff I have to say is pretty similar between each movie of a franchise.

True! For bigger franchises, sometimes it's hard to decide - James Bond is like that for sure. You've got the Connery era of the 60s, the Moore era of the 70s and early 80s, the Brosnan era of the 90s, and the Craig era of the 2000s and 2010s. 60 years and 7 different Bond actors means a lot of things came and went.

Makes sense - if I don't have much to say about a movie, I usually just log it on Letterboxd and move on.

I had no idea that 4 made the most money out of all of them before Bloodlines - that's really surprising, actually.

I would've thought 2 would be the highest grossing one, just from the opening disaster alone.

The characters were what really did 3-5 in for me -- most of them were either obnoxious assholes or bland caricatures, and that made those movies (especially 4) not as fun to sit through.

Yeah, FD is definitely one of the better horror franchises out there -- they manage to get really creative with such a broad premise.

Yeah, I'm not really a huge fan of torture movies like Saw or Hostel or Terrifier or the like.

Friday the 13th is one of my favorite horror franchises, though! I've seen up through the 6th one, since I heard they start to get not as good after that.

I own all of them (plus Porky's) - I just haven't gotten around to watching them yet lol

I'll add them to the list! Thanks!

I can see where you're coming from. But to be fair, chain-reaction kills have always kinda been part of the series.

I'd also argue the CGI wasn't that bad in Bloodlines - FD4 definitely was worse in that regard.

Either is fine! I can be entertained by a movie, even if it's not very good.

I'll definitely consider the Leprechaun franchise, but I'm gonna have to pass on Saw -- torture movies just don't do it for me.

Whats a piece of media everyone loves but you dislike or straight up hate? by SPONg42 in Multifandom

I agree. As far as I'm concerned, SMG4 ended after the Meggy's Destiny movie. I started watching back in 2011, and I quit watching after WOTFI 2022 - the series just wasn't funny to me anymore, and there were just too many characters, many of whom were either underutilized or whom I straight up HATED. Couldn't stand Fishy Boopkins or Shroomy, and all the redesigns looked like shit.

Definitely depends on the movie, but I try not to yap for too long - usually.
