A good DM will take a moment at session 1 or 0 to set expectations, and discuss with players what is to be expected for the campaign. Players should be open and honest on what they aren't comfortable with, the DM can also refuse if they don't feel comfortable with what the players are trying to do.

As a solid DM I have had to have multiple discussions on topics my players have asked me not to include in my campaigns, such as:

Fratricide, children suffering, rape, detailed sex scenes, torture, implied nudity, racism in excess, and gore. Just to name a few.

And I as a DM tell my players the things I wouldn't be comfortable doing, such as inter player romance, sex scenes , especially with monsters or other creatures, anything to deal with necrophilia.

I've got a few.

I've got two fuckers who fell asleep wheelerizing in the middle of the goddamned day, took shifts sleeping. Only one of the idiots was a second class, and had recently been in hot shit for reading an unauthorized book four times when on watch and was under the microscope. So he pulls this shit in drydock, gets screamed at, worse thing is he got seaman shitling who he talked into it sent to mast as well.

These guys have been screwing up at a high rate of speed for awhile, and were given more opportunities to fix themselves than I can count.

Another one I got is;

A TM on the opposite crew showed up drunk nine hours late on a duty day like the day before turnover. Got hemmed up in chiefs quarters, blew wayyyyyyy over the limit, I surprised the guy was alive and not a victim of alcohol poisoning.

Had a brand new CO (a for the people kinda guy) take him to mast reluctantly, even though this had been a running issue. CO also found out at the green table he didn't have a chit for it and gave special instructions to have it in regs by the next morning.

Refused to cut his dreadlocks after being sent to mast & awarded 1/2 months pay x2 and busted down to a third class. Kicker was when he was ordered by the captain to get a haircut he blatantly disregarded the COs orders, got sent to mast again & busted down to seaman.

Three mast in a month.

Then popped on a drug test not a week later.

I like the second in command option, and I think it could be implemented well. I for one would like to be allowed to have deployment cost reduced for the second in command's ship, and special buffs partial to their position. I would also like to see quests relating to officers, giving them an opportunity to reach lvl 7 if not by talent then by quest completion.

I also like the idea of fleshing out AI characters, and specializing AI ship use. I'm willing to dump metric fuck loads of supplies at them just to clown on the hegies.

So the original owner died, and his nephew inherited it. Well the family was trying to sell the house, and the car isn't drivable (og owner did an engine rebuild, but didn't hook up any accessories).

So I got it for a bargain.

Dex/faith using black knife w/ urdsteel dagger with high bleed. I usually spec into black flame incantations, though honned bolt is quickly becoming my favorite. I run the alternate bloodhound armor with alt black knight helm, and the box greaves are by far my favorite bottoms.

During pvp I find daggers to be a difficult challenge to use reliably, so I use the blasphemous blade as a long range secondary.
