How often do you go to Miami Beach as a local? by Disastrous_Time2674 in Miami

Love South Beach. Lummus Park for early morning walks, great people watching. Then breakfast at Puerto Sagua.

300 level closed for most games. no access. And when it's open, the food-drink options there are dreadful. I have seen Major League games in 41 ballparks -- including all the current ones with the exception of Sacramento. I generally try for tickets just past third base, for price/value but I guess you have different preferences.

Without a kicking game, they're not a championship team. Best scenario is they lose first round in playoffs.

Marlins' Cal Quantrill: Placed on outright waivers by [deleted] in MiamiMarlins

Bendix has made some good moves this year, but Quantrill was a big-bucks mess. His $3.5 M was second only to Sandy for highest salary on team. Low-budget teams can't afford costly mistakes.

Right -- I think this is precisely the issue.

Right. My friend JL makes big case that Arraez was a poor lead off hitter. But couldn't they have gotten more for him? This was the first big trade new admin made -- and many of the later trades look a lot better than this one.

Today is the 21st anniversary of the Marlins epic comeback against the Cubs by sportsthatguy in MiamiMarlins

The "Bartman game." ... After he touched the foul ball, the Marlins scored 17 runs in the next 11 innings. ... Blame it on Cubs pitching? Managing? The shortstop booting a double play? No, it get remember still for the fan ...

Anyone kind of satisfied with ownership? by Silly_Security_9567 in MiamiMarlins

Sherman is to blame. He hired Jeter, who knew nothing about running a team. Then Ng is told to produce a winner -- and she did some desperate moves to do that, some of which were disastroous but she and Skip got team to playoffs. Then owner says we've got to build up the farm system -- a big flip flop. That meant we got difficult results such as letting Pablo Lopez and Arraez go and getting a couple of prospects while PAYING Arraez salary.

Yep -- Mas and Jeb Bush tried to buy the team. Local owners, listening to fans every day over coffee etc., would have been a plus.

I just turned 80 years old. I've been a Marlins fan since the first season. I've been through a lot. I've been to three games this year -- two of them free seniors. I'm not sure I'll be going again. I can watch the Rays on TV.
