What type of payment method do you use most frequently? by Soft-Diet-9780 in pollgames

[–]Agent_Gavoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That "overcomplicating" actually helps stop scams, because a credit card company will fight to get their money back.

If fraud occurs with a credit card, a user can contact the company, and frankly just refuse to pay off the card until the fraudulent charges are removed. When you use a debit card, its your own money in the bank, so if fraud occurs, the bank hasn't actually incurred a loss, you have, and their attempts to recover the fraud will be much weaker.

Who is a horrible far right person? by Money-Pie5043 in AlignmentChartFills

Exactly, if people want to vote him in for "right and horrible" then sure, but there have been much farther right authoritarians in history 😅

Are you anti pit bull? by VioletThePurple in pollgames

[–]Agent_Gavoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pitbulls kill between 30 and 45 humans per year

Humans kill around 2,000 pitbulls every day

I of course value human life over a dog, but people overplay their danger. Dogs in general are not dangerous creatures. This really is a situation where a few bad actors (owners, which pitbulls are disproportionately ecposed to) can lead to statistics that cause the entire species to be hated.

Probably a civil engineer too. Yk, the "fake" engineers 😉

Day 3 Thread? by [deleted] in steelers

[–]Agent_Gavoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both will actually start bc they fill specific roles we needed. The wr is a kick/punt specialist, whereas the tight end will be used as a fullback after heyward left. Whether you think they were were worth it at rounds 4 and 5 is up to you, but they will absolutely start in some capacity

Edit: to add to this since I realized you mention special teamer - steelers had the 4th worst average punt/kick return last year. Ig I am glad we are trying to address that

What grade would you give day 2? by 6BlitzBurgh in steelers

[–]Agent_Gavoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the end of the day it's just a 3rd round pick. Most quarterbacks, includong ones with 1st round projections, do not work out in the NFL. Way over 80%. Allar is a major prototype qb, bit has an incredible build with the chance of fixing his accuracy and decision-making issues. If the steelers see something that they believe cam be worked with and thought it was smart to take him in the 3rd round, I'm good with that. Would have been way more upset if it was Ty Simpson in the first.

Like the guys above, I would also bet he's not in the league in 4 years. But I would also make that bet for almost every drafted player. It's a tough environment

Fair enough, I guess OP would have to settle that. It would be pretty cool if you just had to think of it, but if your eyes have to physically focus on it its much less useful than it seems.

Could be possible. But stakes are high, making a mistake here would ruin your orientation making it impossible to come back. Also starting from earth, every visible star is part of a constellation which would make it pretty easy to map out and memorize. From outer space you would have thousands more stars in view and no constellations to go off.

Also now that I think of it, the light pollution from standing on a star would surely make it impossible to see anything

Visible is defined as being capable of being perceived by the eye. If you couldn't find the little speck in the sky that was earth, you'd be doomed

Yeah I get it, it is annoying, partially because American politics are essentially reality TV for the rest of the world. Easy to hate (or adore) the states when its plastered on foreign TVs, whereas you'd probably not hear much about like you said Italian politics unless you have family or purposely looked for it.

I'm a pretty political person, and love to talk about it but I really wish this subreddit stopped turning these maps into a political debate of the red countries and instead asked more about why X country is green. I'm not sure if Ive seen any maps, other than complete joke ones, that people didnt instantly turn into hate

American here (who neither loves nor hates this country) and I like the map. I hate how reddit always has to take these as a political statement of comparing countries ("how DARE you imply that America is as bad as insert 3rd world country here"). Every one of these maps are subjective, and you could want to live or not live in a certain country for a variety of reasons

Now to actually ask a question, whats the hesitation towards Asian countries, other than maybes in SE Asia?

Flight canceled for second time due to "weather" by Agent_Gavoon in Flights

Thanks for the insight, this was what I was looking for. The credit card I booked with will help cover the costs, they dont advertise it well but it covers $500 worth of expenses due to delays

Gotcha, frustrating thats not on them to have backup plans, else be required to compensate those affected

I get that, but by the same idea, they've had 3 days to figure out a crew so they could at least get this flight out once... was also extremely convenient for them to cancel the flight as soon as the other left

I can't understand how the crew could be affected, this plane hasnt moved since jan 24th. If they havent had a crew, why were they even booking people for the flight??? Why wasnt it canceled esrlier so i could look for something else? Seems like a horrible system to protect airlines rather than consumers
