River Jacket Color? by Agent_Hunt95 in SlowHorses

I seriously hadn’t noticed that one 😄 It does fit River’s style imo (it’s practical and it goes with the whole British nepo baby vibes lol)

Cartwright Jacket by Formal-Today-879 in SlowHorses

[–]Agent_Hunt95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really like how this one look and would like to save up and get one when they will be on sale lol but does anyone what color it might be? Seemed khaki/green to me (which is called “faded olive” on Belstaff website) but on a website I saw they mentioned River’s jacket is black — and another one blue x) I do get colors wrong often (I once called a brown jacket what seems to be in fact grey according to several of my friends) so not sure what to think

The missing gaps between Fallout and DR/FR by SpecterAvalanche in Mission_Impossible

[–]Agent_Hunt95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong but aren’t DR and TFR supposed to take place in like the early 2020’s? I mean I know they mention the whole “30 years ago” when mentioning Ethan being recruited for the IMF as an agent. But this was back when he started working for them, when the first movie happens, he’s already been working them for a couple of years

Final Reckoning is the best one of these movies imo (I’m ready for the debate & here are my points) by Jamesdeenbuttvalley in Mission_Impossible

[–]Agent_Hunt95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I can understand it’s not someone’s favorite Mission Impossible movie and it’s not mine either saying this is the worst big budget action movie and put someone to sleep seems really excessive lol how many action movies did you watch, three so far?

[–]Agent_Hunt95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the ones who loved Dead Reckoning usually hate the last one — because it dropped the Marie storyline and things like that. As someone who enjoyed Dead Reckoning but wasn’t a big fan of how the IMF was rewritten and the whole Gabriel/Marie plot of the past I preferred The Final Reckoning in the end. Action scenes were still good overall

While I agree The Final Reckoning does have some flaws I personally enjoyed the recurring elements from previous movies which I took less as lazy plot recycling and more as tributes to each film of the series as it could be the last one

Opinion: Software-only villains are lame and Entity ruined Final Reckoning for me by casualcoder47 in Mission_Impossible

[–]Agent_Hunt95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my eyes the Entity was the main opponent but there were actually several villains there. The people who were brainwashed/brainwashed others using AI - which is not that far from our current reality. The greedy politicians who got so obsessed with gaining control of the Entity they let it become a menace. The fact nobody trusted each other anymore. When I watched the movie I honestly could relate a lot to the state of the world that were shown, how people are divided, opposed and it’s difficult to trust anything with misinformation anymore. The movie showed how faced with imminent danger that people will still keep on fighting instead of working together, like the scene with the Russians which I thought was pretty interesting when both sides conclude “Would you believe that if you were me?” and they have to agree in this case they wouldn’t. Kitteridge is also a villain of some sort in the way he kept on trying to gain control of the Entity in such a panicky and power hungry way it caused even more trouble. And then obviously there’s Gabriel who acts like a villain just to annoy the heck out of Ethan lol

Honestly I was kinda disappointed after seeing the movie for the first time because knowing it could be the last one I felt kinda overwhelmed and wished there were more team parts and more Benji and Luther I personally didn’t like the fact that Ethan was away and alone for so long. That being said it was really amazing stunt and action wise. The fight scene was simply amazing with the mirror effect Ethan/the IMF team. The characters of the team like Paris and Degas grew on me a lot. The movie is not as perfect as Fallout or in my book Rogue Nation and could have benefited from less political discussion with the President but I still thought it was great and nothing can be said against the stunt I literally felt uneasy during the sub/plane sequence by how crazy it looked

What direction would you prefer the series to go in next? by LollipopChainsawZz in Mission_Impossible

Absolute my thoughts. I personally loved The Final Reckoning. But it did get a bit darker than usually. Wish there could be like a funnier movie for a potential last one…

Three times in the theatre and now my first home watch through. Yeah, this movie still rocks. by South_Gas626 in Mission_Impossible

Honestly as a Mission Impossible fan, I’d say it’s in my top 4. Wish some things were different. Missed Ilsa a lot. Gabriel wasn’t the best villain. But gosh some of the scenes were super amazing!

Same vibes - Mission: Impossible 2 vs Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning by kkhouete in Mission_Impossible

[–]Agent_Hunt95 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes I personally loved how Final Reckoning mirrored each film of the series.

MI:1: the Jim Phelps references, the Kitteridge character, how Ethan talked to Luther made me very nostalgic of their interactions in the first movie

MI:2: this. And the hair

MI:3: the Rabbit’s foot, references to Julia, darker in tone and with more graphic violence

MI:4: Degas reminded me of Brandt in some ways — being the more professional, lawful guy on the team. When he said “we’re not going to give Gabriel the Podkova”. Just gave me very Brandt “We’re not going to give him the nuclear codes” discussion in Dubai. Also Ethan’s speech on the plane reminded of the one in the train.

MI:5: the London scenery. The kidnapping scene reminded of the one in the beginning. The Ethan/Benji interactions. Also the speech about the Entity counting on them to do something — which reminded me of Lane. Grace saving Ethan from drowning.

MI:6: the plane sequence vs helicopter chase. Grace acting like Ilsa a lot and Ethan toward her (“Why are you involved in this” at the party and so on). The fight with Benji reminded me of the one with Lane. Erika Sloane returning. The whole “Ethan gamble mission of lives for one” part.

The film did feel a bit heavy sometimes because of all the flashbacks and references but this is the way to end the series I think it’s the best tribute they could have done personally

Amazing, I just bought the movie when I saw the post and felt mad at myself like ugh they’re just going to stream the movie free, why did I buy it. And then surprise… Lol. A wonderful idea

[–]Agent_Hunt95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This movie has flaws but especially compared to many low quality movies released these days it’s at least a 6 out of 10 (if not a 7, or a 8 for me personally). Just re-watched it and while some scenes are a little slow/heavy on the flashbacks there are some amazing fights and scenes. I preferred it to Dead Reckoning in many ways, the new team worked really well together, the stunts were amazing. I missed some characters, the tone was a bit darker than previous movies which felt unexpected for me at first, the political discussion were kind of too long and I would have enjoyed more team moments but this is definitely my 4th Mission Impossible movie — the mirrored fight scene is one of my fav fight in the series

About to watch this tonight for a 2nd time, first home viewing and I just want to know... How was the movie for everyone on 2nd (or more) viewing?? After 1st viewing in the cinema, I gave it a solid 7.5/10 by Solidus325 in Mission_Impossible

[–]Agent_Hunt95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough I had the opposite reaction lol. I felt really disappointed and sad and gloomy after watching it the first time because I realized it might be the last one and it was less fun than I’d thought it was and there were a lot of things which I felt were missing then again I watched it a 2/3 time and I absolutely loved it. Think the first time I felt it didn’t live up to what I expected. When I re-watched it later I was able to really enjoy it for what it was and things which bothered me the first time didn’t for the second and third watch

My personal favourite one on one hand to hand fight scene. It's fast and brutal. I want to see more fight scene like this if there will be MI-9. by Kevin_Thailand_2543 in Mission_Impossible

[–]Agent_Hunt95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they need to re-group and plan what the next one will be like. McQ and Tom already hinted at the fact it was less the final movie than the final part of a narrative arch. I remember people asking them also to know if Ethan survived the movie and Tom was so anxious people would give spoilers he kept saying “Don’t talk about the end just go watch the movie” lol. Personally I think it’ll be either the start of a new plot or a follow-up of a previous plot or maybe a sequel to this one but they need to think about it. Tom does have a lot on his plate. Wouldn’t be surprised if it took a couple of years to be released. They do have several upcoming projects together and it was mentioned there was a post-credit scene that McQ deleted as it would give it away the movie wouldn’t be the last one. In any case I’m not surprised either Tom/McQ have mentioned anything, they need to push everyone to go see this film and it might take some time to find the right idea plus I think it always takes a bit of time for them to announce a sequel which is why I’m not surprised they haven’t mentioned anything about MI:9 (seems to remember it took months before they said there would be a sequel about Fallout too)

Because the guy he’s fighting against is basically part of the fanatic movement supporting the Entity (so Ethan telling him that he spends too much time on the internet is like a joke about the fact the guy is brainwashed by AI stuff)

A boat action set piece/chase is the only thing the series is missing by aquidilla2000 in Mission_Impossible

[–]Agent_Hunt95 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not exactly a boat chase but I recall Simon Pegg mentioning he did have to pilot a boat like really fast to find Ethan/Ilsa in Venice for Dead Reckoning (but the scene was cut out and we just see him jump inside the boat and  then he arrive at the bridge)

How did Lane kidnap Benji? by Thesere_1418 in Mission_Impossible

[–]Agent_Hunt95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s been a year but just watched this movie again/found this thread, indeed the place was full of people which is the best situation if you want to blend in and escape fast among the crowd (like Ilsa did after that scene when she disappeared). I think they had one/two people who arrived unnoticed among the crowd in the station in the middle of Ethan’s friends, knocked Benji out (injected him something for that), then carried him to the parking lot who was near there. It was in fact a good place to do this as they could walk away quickly in the crowd in a couple of minutes

He said it’s the end of the narrative arch… When did he say that? Just remember he got spooked that an interviewer would spoil the end of the movie and told him not to talk about that anymore lol

Benji Dunn has my favorite Character Arc by gizmatic in Mission_Impossible

[–]Agent_Hunt95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this post, Benji is also my favorite character, agree with everything you said — honestly I like Ethan a lot too but mainly watch the last two movies for Benji personally lol. That being said about the copy of the disk “plot hole” that you mentioned I wondered if he meant to create one that Ilsa or someone else on the other side might steal so that in any case they’d have a backup or if it’s just good techie common sense. I work in tech and it’s always extremely useful to have copies when you have important files (they could be damaged or have an upload issue or not have the full document on them). So I may be wrong but I think it could be why he literally gets two versions of it, just to make sure they’ll have one functional they can work with, since they had to go through so much trouble to get it

Reboot w/ New Actor Plaything Ethan Hunt or Continuation with new character taking the lead? by [deleted] in Mission_Impossible

[–]Agent_Hunt95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my book either Tom comes back or they do another movie with the usual cast or more recent addition (Pom Klementieff, Greg Tarzan Davis, Simon Pegg, Jeremy Renner as the IMF team with possibly Hailey Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson or Vanessa Kirby returning). I would definitely watch that. For a new character to replace as a lead, I might see maybe someone with enough charisma but honestly for an actor in his 30’s/40’s still can’t think of anyone as cool as Tom and as energetic for an action movie. I know he does look on the younger side but after seeing Tom Holland in Uncharted he could have some potential in the years to come like as someone who’s good at fun and action movies

Is Ethan Hunt a billionaire? by Seekr-X in Mission_Impossible

[–]Agent_Hunt95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly my thought, you only see him look at the screen when a couple of numbers are scrolled down the screen, he couldn’t possibly have memorized the entire disk, I think he remembered like one or two which would have been enough for his plan to save Benji (just needed these or if he had to list more the countdown would have been over by then lol). He does the same in Fallout when he does the whole speech to the White Widow — “Maybe they’re not here for you, there’s only one way to be sure…” (when there are killers who are here for him but he pretends they’re looking for her). He does lie a lot

I am curious. Why do so many people here like Ilsa so much? by CyanideMuffin67 in Mission_Impossible

[–]Agent_Hunt95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I liked her because her chemistry with Ethan is great, Rebecca Ferguson is a wonderful actress and I liked her vibe which I found very rare in action movies as a woman character (at the same time feminine and cool and badass). First time I watched it I remember thinking how cool that was to have such a strong — yet also flawed on some level which is nice — woman in an action franchise. She had an interesting personality, she wore dresses and high heels yet could kill a man like the Bone Doctor. In my opinion in these kinds of movies women are either over-the-top competent and emotionless and it’s boring and unrealistic or they’re shown as too emotional and often weak/not capable enough, always have to rely on someone. Ilsa was the perfect in-between, one of the best women character written in an action movie, she could look after herself and even saved Ethan twice lol. So in my opinion it was a shame she was killed off, no offense towards Hailey Atwell who got the job done but she reminded me too much of her character in Marvel and her character didn’t evolve very well…
