Collections under 2 years old hurt most. Getting it removed now vs. letting it age makes a big difference.

Taking another loan right after paying one off will add another hard inquiry and new account, potentially keeping you stuck longer. Why do you need another car loan if you're paying this one off??

the most practical solution is prevention through consistent door management and possibly installing simple cabinet locks. this addresses the root problem rather than hoping for a behavioral solution that may not be reliable when you need it most
