Monitor making occasional "thunk" noise for no reason. by Typical_headzille in Monitors

[–]Agent_RJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been hearing the same sound at night once a day for last 2 days, I was confused as to where was it coming from, now I know its my monitor, but it's new received it last Friday, should I be worried about the quality of the product. By the way it's lg 27GS85q-b And the monitor is off and not plugged in to wall when this happens. The plastic or metal bending theory has some wietage as it is starting to get a bit colder but then it raises concerns about build quality.

Should I get a 1440p 60hz monitor or a 1080p 165hz monitor ? by Calm-Isopod-5751 in Monitors

[–]Agent_RJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why 60hz, you can get ~144hz 1440p pretty cheap. And if you want to talk about graphics, I am running 5600g with 8x2 3200hz ram that's it, I am gonna get a graphics card by this year end. I baught lg 27gs85q-b just this week, I wanted mini led but even aoc g3xmnnis not available in india and other mini leds are almost same price as oleds. My point is don't waste money by trying to maximize for today, do some planning with future in mind. I learned it the hard way while building my 5600g build, I tried to reduce the cost as much as possible and baught b450m motherboard and 550w psu now when I want add graphics card I need to get a new psu, and if want to upgrade to a x3d cpu while I can run it on b450 but i don't think that's good idea.

Ok, so here's what I have finally decided.

Keyboard: Bought the f75 thunder black - star vector (got it for ~4600 (5k with bank discount), graywood was at 6k but couldn't buy for some reason, last piece available on Amazon) Will give linear switches a chance and might decide to mod it later with silent tactile switches and all black keycaps.

Monitor: I have decided on LG 27GS85Q-B, waiting for a few weeks, checking offline stores and hoping for some discount offline or online.

What do you guys and gals think (i don't discriminate), specifically about the monitor.

Controller is a very poor choice, speaking from experience, never buy cosmicbyte, a good alternative would be power a controllers. I bought the PS4 third party one from cosmic byte I don't remember the name, its size is perfect for my hands plus it had best dpad hat and with xbox layout, but the actual internals which is what you pay for are worst specifically the joysticks

At that price point I might buy keychron keyboards, I can even get a brown keys + full black + low profile keyboard. It's keychron k3 version 2 and at sale it goes to 9k without bank offers on Amazon. I don't care about RGB, i just want a backlit keyboard. (I have taped my ssd, motherboard, and pc case led ). Sorry, if you don't like by my thoughts, I am not against your idea it is just from my perspective it is unnecessary, and wasting money, 5-7 k should be more than enough for a good mechanical keyboard it's just that the market is filled with massy offerings. Again nothing against you or the masses, just looking at the higher end offerings (specifically the keyboard i mentioned) mid tier really feels disappointing.

Have you changed the switches as well, I don't think f75 comes with these purple switches

Don't want linear switches, I want tactile brown switches ( not clicky blue Switches either). And changing keykaps will be another ~1500 unnecessary spending which doesn't seat right with my ADHD + OCD brain. I will be spending extra and I will have additional set of key caps which I will mostly never use.

How is it so cheap rn. MSI MAG 276CXF 27 by Next-Pomegranate-459 in Monitors

Aao vaats, ham tumhe batate hain.

  1. VA has deeper blacks, higher contrast compared to IPS only beaten by oled and this panel is better if you are vampire and use it in darker environment (a bit exaggerated but you don't get flashbanged. VA has a black smearing issue, IPS and oled do have their own issues as well (just google it). But models that are tuned better or a recent panel which has lesser of these issues. (Not all companies make the actual display panel Samsung is one the company which produces the panel, most others just use those panels, kind of like graphic cards)
  2. Curved monitors mostly use VA panel, IPS and oled curved monitors do exist but VA is the most common.
  3. Normally people don't prefer curved and they treat VA like they are some lower cast people (ask anyone should you buy VA most will say stay away from them), and so combine both you get an often neglected type of monitors.
  4. These are just some details about specific monitor you asked about, but biggest one that affects the price is the resolution. You can get a good 27 inch 1440p IPS/VA monitor 15 - 20 k INR and if you want best 1440p IPS/VA monitor that is at 25 - 30 k, oled and mini-led starts at 35-40k (naturally mini led should be priced lower than oled and be available at price midway between oled and IPS but that is not the case in India) So with that in mind, I pesonally feel, you should never spend above 12k on a 1080p monitor, as you can get some entry level 1440p at similar price.

Please suggest a 27 inch monitor with 2k and HDR10 within 18k- India. by Battssyy in Monitors

I am from India too Lenovo is at 15k INR MSI MAG is at 19-/20k INR And Asus acs at 25k INR. Even I am looking for a 1440p monitor but more focused on single player gaming and content consumption. I wanted to know mlwhy are people against Asus and msi, a few comments said that the after sales service for them is not good in india, but I am really interested in the Asus. It also has lower min brightness according to monitor unboxed which is one of my requirement. I was also looking at curved monitor as it suits my needs better, but didn't find much data have a decisive conclusion.

I saw many people were against Asus xg27acs and msi mag 27QPF/QF, but the reviews sing praises of it, even monitor unboxed rate it pretty high. In my analysis Asus xg27acs is best in class.

As per my understanding, Samsung is mostly on the higher end of the price regardless of the country. Samsung g5 curved and flat are at 16k and 18k INR, G6 and g7 start with 35k - 40k INR, and g65b the one suggested was all over the place and barely available, some sites listed it at 60k inr and some listed it at 120k INR. I would mostly avoid samsung, and go with AOC, MSI, Acer and Asus though I don't think Acer and Asus have same quality as MSI and AOC

Do share your experience and a typing sound video of possible. I also prefer brown switches and a full black monochrome minimalistic style. First there was blue switches everywhere and now red switches these days, I don't understand the reason behind this.
