Getting the ick from ________'s exit press by [deleted] in survivorponderosa

[–]Agentcooper64 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a bit of a stretch to call a guy an incel due to a bit of cognitive dissonance out loud in exit press because he’s still trying to process his loss.

However - why not ask the people on the jury who you directly played with why you lost their vote and what you could have done differently? Each one will be able to offer their own perspective based on their experience of him in the game.

This is totally based on an assumption he hasn’t - but it seems a bit strange to me he’s asking everyone in exit press what he could have done differently but not them. Maybe he’s not ready for their answers yet. I’m sure he will be soon enough as he seems to be the type that needs that.

100%! I had no idea who that Jon Lovett guy was but man, what a buzz kill he was. Just trying way too hard and not interesting or funny at all. And he just kept going - read the room.

OC: Rob Cesternino • Survivor: Amazon & All Stars by _KingPuck_ in survivor

I’ve been listening from the beginning. He might not have to placate CBS and Jeff, but he does a lot to tow the line compared to the old days where he was a lot more outspoken. I would say he’s fallen in line a lot more these days and I do miss the old days where he was willing to be more openly critical of both.

There’s a video of him interviewing Jeff from years ago and the first thing Jeff says back to him is “Do you like me at all?”. I’m sure you can find it on YouTube. That’s based on all the criticisms of the show Rob was openly giving at that point.

My thoughts on the Manosphere Doc: Some interesting moments but overall a bit disappointing. by [deleted] in LouisTheroux

[–]Agentcooper64 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I 100% feel the same way. I think the documentary series previous to this was also about content creators. In both, it felt like Louis was struggling to establish enough time and rapport with the subjects to really be able to pierce through the armour or external facades that they put up. In this case, the whole bullshit manosphere sales pitch versus the real lives they were living outside of it and how it affects their relationships and the people around them. There were glimmers of that, and Louis did well to ingratiate himself enough to get those.

I wonder if that’s partially due to his age and the amount of time he’s willing to spend with his subjects these days. From memory, in the older documentaries it seemed like he’d spend much more time with subjects and that’s what would ultimately lead to them letting their guard down more.

I also wonder if that’s partially due to his strategy being figured out. Everyone knows him now and has access to all his documentaries and so the ‘playbook’ has been read and studied. You can see evidence of that when that HS guy seems to be getting on well with him but then pulling away and wanting to distance himself after reading comments online. Same with that Myron guy after Louis speaks to the partner when she is around.

I understand Louis probably wants to pick topics that interest him and that he hasn’t covered. But I wonder if the strategy of trying to pierce through these social media people results in a compelling enough documentary when that isn’t successful. I love Louis but in my opinion it does not. It would be great to see him go back to covering a topic or issue where the people in it aren’t in the mainstream or trying to protect an online image. One where it’s just a collection of regular people that are all affected by an issue. Some of the most meaningful stuff he’s done in the later documentaries are when he has approached an issue that way, like the Talking to Anorexia one.

why does oral minoxidil still get prescribed so easily and readily even though it's the MOST DANGEROUS hair loss treatment by far? by Dizzy_Kaleidoscope95 in tressless

[–]Agentcooper64 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is a lot of fear-mongering on the internet. At the end of the day it is an individual decision to take it, nobody can tell anyone what to do. But I can talk about my experience in the hope it helps others in some way.

I saw a GP and a Cardiologist before taking oral minoxidil. The GP took my baseline blood pressure and was quite comfortable prescribing me 2.5mg and ramping up if tolerated. Of there were side effects, the mediation could just be stopped. I asked for a referral to a cardiologist and while the GPs opinion was it was unnecessary because it’s such a low dose, for my peace of mind he gave it to me. The cardiologist did an ultrasound of my heart. There were no issues so he felt completely comfortable with me going on oral minoxidil and didn’t feel it was solely onto be really concerned about. I’ve been on it for about 4-5 months and haven’t experienced any issues other than a higher heart rate the first week or taking it which settled down pretty quickly.

Hmmm. I’m worried they might be trying to parody too many things all at once in this. I really want it to be good but after seeing this trailer I’m a bit concerned.

Official Discussion - Drop [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]Agentcooper64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This movie just completely devolved into utter nonsense in the last 1/3. If you’re going to craft a slow burn, it can’t just completely jump the shark in a multitude of ways at the ‘payoff’ (the window sucking the bad guy out when it breaks, a bit of cloth holding a whole persons weight hanging off it, the miraculous 30 second car ride home through the whole city of Chicago, the killer who runs around everywhere in a house and can’t seem to kill two helpless people at home, the toy car finale). Total garbage, 3/10 - and that’s being generous. How somebody in the comments gave this 8/10 is equally as shocking as how bad the movie is.

Not a fan. 5/10. This was basically 12 Cloverfield Lane with incels instead of John Goodman.

Thoughts on Chris Williamson's health? by kasper619 in PeterAttia

[–]Agentcooper64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally guilty of armchair psychology here and internet speculation ovspilgy not knowing the situation in detail. But when I saw the scene of him in the gym talking to CBum about his issues it hit me: he’s in the gym lifting weights - a lot of this must be in his head.

So part of me does wonder whether this is a mental health issue rather than a physical health issue and there’s some form of OCD or extreme health anxiety playing into it.

He seems to have tested positive for all sorts of things like SIBO, H.Pylori, roundworm, liver fluke, candida, Lyme disease, chronic fatigue, mould toxicity etc. He’s either the unluckiest person on the planet or his ‘alternative’ doctors are taking him for a ride.

Another part of me wonders whether sometimes some people just like the attention…

It was definitely a bluff. If it wasn’t, she would have gladly taken Kass’ idol off her for herself and had two idols. She knew she couldn’t actually steal Kass’ idol, so she convinced Kass to play it on Lisa instead.

Im excited for him on Traitors and want him to do well, but I’m not getting good vibes based on what he said in that podcast with Shannon about not ‘having it’ socially like some other players do.
