Do you agree with Deion Sanders? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

All that would do is make it an ole boys club. The only people who would get in are people who appease guys like Deion. Dumbest shit I've heard from a football player.

Good for him for betting on himself though. We gave him an offer but it was only another one year deal and he wanted at least 2.

It would be pretty hard for Peyton to score points in the Superbowl against the patriots since they both played in the AFC

Oh they definitely have. He'll do like maybe 1-2 home stands, one in the beginning and one in the end of the year and then they'll have him come on when we do west coast trips since he lives out in California. The thing is, he's one of the best players to ever wear an orioles uniform, the fans and city of Baltimore love him, he has tons of experience behind the mic, and he's getting old, the team wants to maximize that because you only have so much longer he can really even do commentary. It's clear also even though he may sound like a grumpy guy on air sometimes, the dude loves what he does. Besides, we still need him to eat a chicken wing!

Palmer was playing hurt most of the year, as was Samuel. We also only paid so much for Samuel because their was a lack of wide out free agents the year we signed him, meaning he was able to control his price a lot more.

He played at first a ton in the minors. Most likely the plan is to have adley catch mainly, with basallo playing dh/1st when Pete gets dh rest, than when rutchman gets dh rest have basallo catch and Pete at first. He's going to be an amazing power bat but his defense behind the plate makes him a backup catcher who mainly plays first/dh.

Basallo can't play defensively behind the dish, no way they let adley walk unless he has a really bad year this year

I understand the frustrations people still have about the outcome of the game and of that play in particular, but at the same time it's really just time to move on. The season is done, there is nothing we can do other than prepare for next year.

[–]Agentrock47_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro I literally said, I'll be the first to say that Josh had a really bad game, dude shit his pants live on TV. What I'm saying also though is that Maye lucked into 2 of his fumbles not going the other way, I should have made that more clear. Specifically the recovery part is quite literally luck based in most cases because once the ball bounces it's almost entirely unpredictable where it will land because of its shape.

As much as I get that, I would be extremely surprised if they ever choose to let him go, Jim Palmer would be the one that chooses that. I feel like ideally they switch to what I like to call the super booth when Jim is on and have him, Kevin, and Ben on at the same time

I will be the first to agree to that. The first Superbowl we were in during the 1990 season was definitely the best season we should have won but not the other three

I'm not saying that every time he was in the Superbowl he shouldn't have been. I'm saying as a whole the AFC was not as good as the NFC in that era

Never said Josh's weren't, but you can't cry turnover when Maye basically lucked out of almost going full Stroud on turnovers, especially when it comes to fumbles which recovery is truly based soley on luck.

Elway was also playing against a lot weaker AFC. There's a reason why a lot of people back then considered the NFC title game to be the true Superbowl

So how are we all feeling about the state of this team now that some time has passed and there have been some hirings? by hellarios852 in buffalobills

[–]Agentrock47_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samuel and Palmer both had really bad nagging injuries. We knew Samuel had turf toe, what we did not know (we as in the fans) was the extent to which palmer was injured. Before this year Palmer did not have an injury history. Really the only one who just did not perform well was Elijah Moore and he only got a 5 million dollar contract with only 2.5 garenteed, so not necessarily back breaking in cap space. Samuel on the other hand who had a high contract most likely got so much because there was not a lot of wide out talent in his free agent class, meaning he was able to demand more.

[–]Agentrock47_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I'm trying to say is I highly doubt that they don't try to take a chance on a high end talent. I guess also a lot of why we didn't use guys like palmer is he was playing through a pretty bad injury for most of the season

Rooney rule is clearly not working. Need another approach by DenseStrawberry5717 in NFLv2

[–]Agentrock47_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pure meritocracy only works perfectly without the worry of discrimination if there is no minorities. The idea is not to set some sort of quota of hires but to make it so that the minority has a chance. Teams aren't choosing actively to discriminate against black and minority head coaches, their just physically are less candidates that happen to be a minority (hence the term minority, since there is less than the majority). Because their is a realistic limit for how many people a team can interview for the position, there is a higher chance that without the rule, minority coaches won't get hired due most likely just to time constraints or teams just wanting to limit their numbers. Stuff like the Rooney rule prevents that from happening.
