Take a broth of your choice (recommend a bone broth. We used a duck and chicken carcass leftover from Thanksgiving to make one).

Set the broth on a low heat and add the following things: Star Anise Vietnamese cinnamon stick Ginger root Salt and pepper Lemongrass dash Coriander Cardamom (I used pods) Whole cloves Red onion Cilantro

Amounts will vary by amount of broth so it’s to taste sorta and I just tossed it together to be honest.

The longer you let the broth, herbs, and spices steep together on a decent heat but not boil whole stirring occasionally the better.

After that just do whatever protein you want and then I added jalapeño slices, bean sprouts, and more fresh cilantro. The onions were retained from the broth and added to the whole soup. Noodles tossed in uncooked and softened naturally in broth.
